I can only hope Digweed spins at the same time as Armin....that way I won't be suckered into listening to Armin and falling asleep on the dancefloor again.

Haha...me too!

THe only problem is, I am brining some friends who are new to the scene, and they want to hear trance, not diggers.

I dont want to leave them, but I dont want to hear armin either

Ummm i dont think we are talking about the same dj then...have you ever been to one of Armin's shows??? i mean there's gotta be a reason why people over here call him "the people's dj"...and if he had attitude, i dont think he would have read the message on my phone that said Selu Vibra - Divine, then smile at me and point at me with his finger and 2 tracks after spin my track...nor would he come out of his booth at the end of the show to take pictures with the fans and talk to people freely, shake my hand and ask me how the night was, then have me take a picture of him and one of my friends...i mean if you don't like his music it's fine, but it just seems like you're talking out of your ass with those epmty comments, no offense

Isn't DJ Danny D called "the people's DJ"

If you like what armin spins then great.....personally.....I've given him 4 chances to impress me.....I even went to BeB to see him to see if maybe it was just Toronto that caused him to not impress me but unfortunately it was not.

His attitude is "You Must Love ME.....I Spin Records for you". The whole jumping up onto the table and standing in the Jesus Pose is all part of that attitude. I have no problem with DJ wanting to hype up the crowd but what he does...along with many other DJs....is not hyping the crowd....its praise me crap.

I don't take offense to anything so no worries there dood. I just hate the fact that Armin is quickly becoming another tiesto....which is good for his wallet and all the power too him.

That's dedication to the crowd and music ... everytime i saw him, the guy smiled throughout the whole set, that man loves what he does, and thats to be appreaciate it. That doesnt mean everyone has to like him...which is exactly your case...you havent been impressed by his music (guessing you like house music more since you want to see Digweed) but "dood" lol there are no facts in your arguments..."dj jumping on the table...oh yeah, lets praise him, he's trying to be god" if thats the case...then i guess 90% of the djs are Gods...this is stupid, i can't even find a come back to that cause it's so absurd, but i guess that's your interpretation of things so cheers

We see his actions and interprete them differently...which is cool...because we all interprete things differently and draw conclusions from that. The jumping up on a table isn't the bad part....it is the standing there in the Jesus pose that gives it away. He tries way to hard to have people like him......his actions are not done to hype the crowd....a part of the DJs job is to get the crowd hyped up.....to date....and I have been in this game for a long....long time....the top three DJs I've seen for hyping the crowd are Mark EG, Eddie Halliwell and Yoji (not in any particular order)

I love trance....but not fluffy trance...which he does play a lot of....he throws in some good hard stuff once in awhile but by then I'm asleep. I do like house and in all honesty it is starting to grow on me more.....actually.....techno is my true love.

Correction...Eddie Halliwell TRIES to hype up the crowd, hardly succeeds, anyway, been in this game for 10 years so i already have my opinion formed based on years of clubbing and 24/7 listening to this ... love of my life haha. And isn't Jesus our role model ... aren't we all supposed to try to be like him after all

its all about the love for the music....I've been in this game for....holy shit.....13 years now.....and I don't see me stopping anytime in the near future.

The reason there is so many different genres of EDM is because we have different tastes....yet...I know....at least myself....I appreciate all forms of EDM...even Happy Hardcore . I may not like Armins track selection....or what I feel is praise me attitude...but I will give him all the respect in the world for being one of the top individuals in his profession.

Exact reason i dont like listening to him live.

Its cool to take requests and all, but last time he took so many, his set was all over the place. Just no real flow.

And then, his encore was "Sail"?

I want the DJ to control the crowd, to control me. When he plays what others request, there are just too many styles, and opinions coming through.

Just how i feel, he has so much potential. He just needs to play a set, and stop 'catering' to the crowd.

Look at diggers and Sasha. They barely even smile, and its just fine because they take you on a journey, and they are loved for it.

Posted by dartrance on Jul-20-2006 03:55:

Digweed and sasha have both been pretty boring lately. But i agree armin has fallen the worst out of the big trance djs next to paul van dyk in my opinion.

Which is kind of sad to say because they both were top notch at one point. Then again tiesto and oaky have fallen as well, but at least those two can still build a set once in a while.

Armin has no clue these days it seems. Tracklisting is 10x more important than mixing to most people. But Maybe he never did? Back then the tracks were just so good anyways.

IMO ferry & junkie will be the ones worth it for a few of us coming up

Diggers i loved both times last year. He is just class not matter what, imo.

But, Ferry and JXL are the ones i want to see most.

JXL FTW.
