I will be the first person here to voice my displeasure if this is an "armada classics" compilation. But I do not think this is the case. The only way any Armada tracks that are not real classics make it on imo, is if they cannot license enough tunes to fill all the CDS and have extra space. then of course you may see a "Envio" or "Love Theme Dusk".

40 tunes is alot of music folks. Like I mentioned beofre, if there are 5 tunes on there that you can use, You are paying market value for them.

Rather than this thread turning into a flaming war, it would have been cool to get a discussion going on what people would like to see on it. Perhaps the ASOT brass would read it and maybe get some ideas. With that in mind, here are a few classics I would LOVE to see on it:

1: Age of Love- Age of Love (Original Mix) (My old vinyl is so crackly. Especially the low parts beats in the intro. A CD master of this would be awesome!

2: Markus Schulz- You Won't See Me Cry (Deepsky remix) (I was hoping this would be on Markus Album, but no luck. This has never been released on a CD in its full version as far as I know)

3: Way Out West- The Gift (Yummy!)

4: Underworld- Dark & Long (Same as Age of Love, my vinyl of this is beat!)

5: Bedrock- Heaven Scent

6: Viframa- Cristalle

Feel free to add on

I think you accused me of something which was irrelevant in the first place, and now I've defended myself you're accusing me of irrelevant issues. Try again mate.

What the fuck is that supposed to be? A roll-eyes of "Oh shit. He's got me there"?

I hope the tracklist is good so that I have something pleasant to listen to while I finish up my half of the design of the 'better mouse trap builder'

edit: most of the other tracks are nice classics though

pretty hard to come by specially in full cd quality

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Jul-22-2006 12:50:

Where'd you get that from? Because if that's the correct tracklist I might just get myself a copy.

Posted by Magistrate on Jul-22-2006 13:17:

http://www.astralmusic.com/en/cdcat...Trance+Classics

After the enormous success of the CD A STATE OF TRANCE YEARMIX, which was released by Cloud 9 Music last December and was in the compilation chart Top 30 from December until May and the STATE OF TRANCE 2006 CD released by Armada Music also was in the charts for almost three months.; Cloud 9 Music will release on August 18th the CD A STATE OF TRANCE CLASSICS THE FULL VERSIONS.

Under the trademark A STATE OF TRANCE, the label and the worldwide known radioshow off Armin van Buuren, Armin has made a selectionof 40 classic trance tunes, which will appear on the CD in full version.

This not only offers a great view of the biggestTrance Classics, but as there has been a complete change amongst the Djs from vinyl to CD, the 40 full versions are a perfect Djtool for the growing population of CD- DJs.

Posted by isoterra on Jul-22-2006 13:18:

pretty much what i expected, with only one questionable inclusion (atrc) but then again i guess that was kinda inevitable too. no surprises

(if it's the real deal that is..)

Posted by Camwin on Jul-22-2006 13:27:

Will definately have to get this if they are the full versions.
Good idea to have them full or it's just another 'classics' release

Posted by G-Con on Jul-22-2006 13:34:

Tracklist looks good. I would consider this an essential purchase for any trance DJ.

As far as the knocking of ATRC. I myself was never that bothered about it but I remember many music magazines, after criticising trance for some time, said this was the first great trance tune to appear in a while. It was hammered by every trance DJ for ages. The crowd response for this tune was massive whereever you went. After its release music mags were calling G&D saviours of trance. (a lot of hype I know but even so). From a persoanl experience, friends of mine who loved 90's trance but have now all moved on to other genres saying that trance has gone shit thought that As The Rush Comes was the last great tune they heard.

Like I said I myself wasn't that fussed but I think it definately deserves classic status. I think for every person on here saying its shit, there are 5 times as many people thinking its one of their favourite trance tunes.

On a seperate issue - System J, I usually think you speak sense but on this topic, you have been an utter twat.

Lovely.

My suspicions look confirmed at any rate. And I already own (counts) forteen of those unmixed so no reason to splash on it. The only one I'd really like unmixed which I don't already have is Armin's mix of Rapture.

Mauybe i'm blind but they are saying that it will include 40 tracks. The tracklist is only 26 tracks, now here is something really fishy, lol

Posted by PHg on Jul-22-2006 14:50:

The site also says it's a tentative tracklist... probably just the confirmed tracks named. Looks like your standard 2000 / 2001 compilation, with just a few exceptions.
