No i didn't not expect anything better from the crowd, i know Tiesto brngs out the worst in elecotric clubs, due to the countless newbies who just love Traffic and Adagio for Strings and hope to find some fucked up girls on E or something lol. But yes, i was deeply dissapointed by his performance last night and the vibe he sent to the crowd. I can say Armin was completly the apposite in any way you can think of ,a month ago when i went to see him at Dragonfly. And to top the bad impression Tiesto has already made on me last night, my 2 friends who went back stage with tiesto told me about his charming skills aka "Suck my dick" I don't think im being harsh at all. Someone like him should ALWAYS be gratefull to his fans, because he is there ONLY cause of them and nothing else. Theres always someone better waiting to take his place, his #1 cause of one reason only...POPULARITY! Liked Tiesto back in the days ... poop on him now :-) sorry!

everything put aside this is after all a person who has done countless things for our scene. we all have different views and prespectives on things we see and hear at a club but i am sure you will agree that generally speaking Tiesto is one of the hard hitters in EDM. couple of years ago when Tiesto used to jump up and down the speakers and throw his headphones into the crowd and play 2 or 3 encore tracks and what not everybody and their mother bashed him for doing it and said cant he just stand in dj booth and play tunes. now that he is doing that we are starting to hear the other end of the bandwagon lolz.

by the way from what i saw myself yes for the most part of the night he stood in the dj booth and just played tunes and looked a bit *rough* but also he had great crowd intereaction where it was due. during sean tyas - lift i saw him with his hands up and looking on the dance floor with huge grin and then also during Traffic and Artic Globe and Let The Light Shine In he was really into it.

as for the crowd lolz ....did you guys really expect anything diofferent ? for the earlier part of the night i was at the back and had tons of room to dance and move around and around 2ish i went up front and found room there to dance no problem. a bit hot yes but nonetheless there was room to dance and go nuts

To be honest though, i was MOST dissapointed by his interaction with the crowd, his long "fuck this" face ... not the attitude i would expect from a DJ of his caliber. The guy couldnt wait to get to his hotel... not cool

+1

I was saying that to Ania on the way home; his interaction was terrible imo.

My review of the night was meh. MO was busting it proppa and then the announcer guy shouts out MO's name in appreciation at about 12:30, when most of us were expecting Tiesto to come on. It was almost as if MO wasn't expecting to stay on past that point because the music turned to absolute shite.

Then Tijs came on at 1:00 and for the first 20 minutes I was thinking, "NOW I remember why I don't want to see Tiesto again" but suddenly, he dropped "Lethal Industry" at exactly 1:20 and for the next 40 minutes the tracklist was phenomenal with totally fast-paced and dirty bassline tracks!!!! That period was one of the best...

...then at 2:00 it went dry again, until about 3:20 and for another 40 minutes he played some euphoric trance that I liked. He was really euphoric for most of the second half and a lot of it was EXTREMELY boring, except for that 40 minutes of euphoria!

The BEST part of the night was meeting all the TAs who I hadn't met in so long!!!!! I <3 you people (you all know who you are! )

And Ania, thank you for the company there and back; sharing my favorite tracks with you and you appreciating them and liking them so much totally made my night!!!

DJ PREACH - BROKEN INSIDE FTW!!!! (no it was not played at Dragonfly -- WHICH IS AN AWESOME CLUB...I guess I should share my 2 cents on the club -- but in my car)

The club was beautiful...I loved the ceiling and there were pockets of cool air blasts all over the place. Very well ventilated, service great and friendly, bouncers helpful, and I just loved the samurai theme with holograms and statues everywhere; VERY stylish!

Highlight of the night: CAESARS!!!! This girl in the bar in the back made absolutely the BEST CAESARS!!!! I had two

you are entitled to your opinion based on ur experience last nite no doubt...i won't even confront you on that...but it should be UNDERSTOOD by everyone and i had mentioned this in the roll call thread that if ur expecting Tiesto to sign everything that comes his way...read text msg's from fans, smile the entire time he's up there, talk to ppl while spinning then ur IN A FOR A SURPRISE! cuz thats not his style! HE IS NOT ARMIN nd will never be... simple....

u dont like his style u can bitch about it but really nothin can be done....u can boycott all his events thats fine too...guess what there are still million others who will pay $60 to go see him...thats just the fact of the matter Alex! therefore, last nite i stayed away from the stage didn't expect him to be going nuts ...i knew what to expect from the crowd and i KNEW THIS WAS NOT GOING TO BE A DOCKS REPEAT! so with that said....i will now write my review

I 100% AGREE with you! I had an amazing time because I went into this event knowing pretty much exactly what to expect. I stayed away from the front and partied with the people I came with. If you can't accept the fact that this "shite" is going to happen at Tiesto events then maybe you shouldn't be going.

The only thing I was hoping they would have kept the club at a decent size and not filled it over capacity. Other than that I expected everything else. I can honestly say that I wasn't expecting much cuz I knew what it would be. I got all I wanted out of the party
And I got to party with everyone so that is good enough for me.

Mark Oliver did a stellar job though. I was very impressed. The club itself was beautiful too. And Tiesto had his moments. I know I was dancing up a storm a couple of times, but I was just too tired to keep anything going. All I could really think about was getting home and getting to bed. I couldn't stop yawning
Sunday parties FTL.

Actually, as we were driving down there, my friends were like "oh shit, i forgot to bring a t-shirt for Tiesto to sign" and i said " This isn't Armin, good thing you didn't cause you would only be carrying it with you" I knew what to expect and didn't expect much, and i got less, which is totally fine with me since i had a good time regardless, but not due to tiesto's "skills". If it wasnt for the people i partied with last night (no need to mention them since they know who they are) and for MO beats, especially after Tiesto's set ... i would have sadly had to call last night "complete shiete" lol. I know you're a sucker for Tiesto & thats cool & im glad you had an awesome time last night too (that goes for all of you who were there) BUT would you honestly say that Tiesto's set, vine, and attitude he had going last night was worlds #1 Dj caliber ?!?!

I always thought they were all born with dj'ing skills..

i hate commercialism they make so much money and act so shitty and just dont care cause they have the marketing dollars to keep on keepin on and yet there are people that totally support that.

this is why u'd never see me at a tiesto show i like interaction, joy, expression, passion, good times, good crowd, good vibe, intimate events is where im at u can catch me at one....not so soon but hopefully soonish

nada...we still have to actually party together not just u makin hearts across the room cause i love antoine LOL! xo

prolly be around in sept...attalla starts his residency woot!

Twas my first time seeing Tiesto, thank you Dave (dc ajaxs) for getting me a ticket. Unfortunately, I don't think I'd go back. In fact, I'm not sure I'm cut out for the all night partying anymore. I felt like garbage by 2 am, and had to just sit back (well, lean back against those weird lookin poles) and listen, rather than participate (which, by the way, is just as interesting... it doesn't mean i'm not having a good time)

I AM glad I came out, it was an experience. Dragonfly is a very nice club, it's probably not so bad when it isn't a big name night. The dancefloor and perimetre areas were starting to clear around 2, 230, so it wasn't bad back there. Some people tho, they don't know how to act around big crowds when they're dancing or walking by. I expected minor shoving and such, but some of the dancers just didn't care - they'd be running into everyone (two hilarious cases for example: on the dance floor, during MO, one REALLY sketched out italian guy was hitting me and Andrea and he turned to us and he was like, "oh man! you guys gotta forgive me, i'm so fuckin high i can't even figure it out" and he like, put us up in front of him so that we had more space, which was nice of him but it didn't change anything... the second was this older guy, looked gino, wearing the ugliest muscle shirt i've ever seen, dancing in the walking paths of everyone heading to the washroom and stuff... he kept running into us but he didn't say anything. Then to make matters worse, he farted and was like, wafting it in our direction)

I thought Mark Oliver did an amazing job. I can't recall in recent memory actually hearing him play, though I'm sure I have. The only downside was that he (in my opinion) was playing more random tracks than what I heard of Tiesto (we left around 330). And I felt he was dragging out the transitions of tracks a little too long. And then right before Tiesto came on, it was blah. BUT then Tiesto came on and it was like DUDE. I think that place is a little small for a guy like him. Anyway, moment of the night for me - I'm chillin at the back, wedged between a subwoofer and the pole, cuz it was the only safe place, 3 songs into Tiesto's set and (I believe) Mind Circus comes on and WHOOSH - everyone threw their hands up and just was like, "OHHHHHHH!!!" I laughed, but it was the best moment of music ever for me.

Now that I've written a novel, I'll wrap it up... I'm sorry that I wasn't as social as normal (LAURA i'm glad I saw you, JENN you rock, MILOS it was nice to meet you and FAHAD FUCKIN RIGHT) everyone I'm sorry I missed you guys, but I couldn't do it last night, I was just beat.

I won't be attending Labour of Love, but I hope you guys have fun if you go.

Seems to me there are 2 different kinds of people when it comes being successful and in the spotlight. The arrogant "bigger than life" kind. And the humble, grateful kind.

Tiesto needs to remember that he is just a DJ/Producer. He's no movie star. He should be grateful to be able to do something he once enjoyed (but obviously not anymore) and make a lot of money doing it. His recent sets and albums show that he is not hungry anymore and doesnt have the fire and passion in his work. Having BT basically produce his last album proves this.

If he doesnt want to sign autographs thats fine, but to insult the people who pay lots of money to see him play records is bullshit. Ill never spend any money on his punk ass ever again.

As far as the club goes, I think its great. Yeah people were a little pushy, but thats to be expected I guess in a venue like this.

Off to PvD and Sander in NYC this weekend. It will be easy to forget last night.

First of all DragonFly is a beautiful club, but the dj booth needs to be put in a different spot. Tiesto played an awesome set, but I noticed he dropped alot of tracks from Armin's ASOT 261 as well (which is an awesome ASOT) and of course he played some awesome classics.

I met some awesome people. I was alittle lost most of the night, not being able to find my friends.

Never drinking that much at DragonFly again.

Highlight of the night: Artic Monkey vs. Sander van Doorm - Sun goes down
