LOL! Damn, 17, eh? I'm a 28 year-old driving a '97 Prelude in Scarborough and I pay about $2,000, but I get an employee discount.

Just two years ago, I was paying $7,000 per year, as I was summarily convicted (conditional discharge) of dangerous driving under the Criminal Code in 2001.

Ok, not cool.

If I recall correctly your minimum limit is $50,000. Additionally, Accident Benefits coverage (which is similar to your PIP coverage) is mandatory and infinately higher then your PIP coverage.... ($100,000 medical coverage, $72,000 for attendant care, $10,400 housekeeping coverage, and income replacement coverage of $400/wk.... these amounts go up to $1,000,000, 1,000,000, $100/wk for life, and $400/wk for the first two years and $2hundred something for life after the first two years for certain injuries). You really cannot compare prices from NY to ON as the policies/products are totally different. INSURANCE IS NOT A COMMODITY.

Mmm that's a juicy pwnage.

yes! so true. i definitely belong to the lead foot alliance since i drive fast all the time. im amazed i haven't been caught yet. my friend actually got out of my car one day and was like "so you've clearly never had a speeding ticket..."
my record is making it from guleph to t.o. in 25 mins.

where i seem to run into problems is backing out of my driveway. the only accident i've ever had was when i was upset and really distracted and ended up backing into the Saab behind me.

You were right the first time. Scott's just disgruntled!

Posted by Jer on Aug-16-2006 13:26:

Back in the day, I was $5800 a year for a '92 Honda Prelude.

Then again, I was 20 years old with no Driver's Ed, No G Class license and a first time driver as well as first time insurance.

Maaaan, that sucked. But oh what fun I had.

Well I hope he isn't taking it out on the insureds..haha

According to our Ombudsman here, we've been getting some complaints from insureds on the way the claims are being handled over there

That's not good to hear. One thing to bare in mind is that claimants will always complain, the question that needs to be asked is whether they are unhappy because of poor service or unhappy because they didn't get the settlement they wanted. Unfortunately, our industry is horrible at explaining how it works, what people are entitled to, and the reasons for our decisions. Most people expect far more then they are entitled to under both law and the insurance contract. Thankfully, I don't work on the Aviva program.

Oh I hear ya!!! It's also possible that people just refuse to listen There was this gentlemen shouting at the staff about his payment, and refused to listen to anyone...he just kept on insisting that he was right. Goshness!

Our company has to deal with that crap times a billion b/c we deal with brokers too

Thank goodness I'm going back to the chem lab after the summer

what's that crazy race through europe? the gumball 3000 or something like that...

the crazy TA drivers should all chip in on a sweet ass car and go smoke the record

im game except our car would suck since we wouldnt be able to afford the insurance on anything much faster than a pinto...... but it would be the best pinto in the race for sure.... hey at least the tunes would be good

Posted by Gypsy on Aug-17-2006 17:24:

haha we'd look hilarious. i think most ppl that do this race have tricked out expensive cars, but im all for a cheap car. we're just gonna drive the hell out of it anyway. the money we save on the car we'll put toward a decent soundsystem since tunes are key. and as long as the car doesnt explode, the system can be taken out.

Posted by sticky_shoes on Aug-17-2006 21:19:

OMG...We should do a "Fast and the Furious" and buy a junk car (i.e. Toyota Supra!!!) and totally soup it up!!!

Pimp Your Ride - TOTA stylez, yo!!!!

I'd personally would like to modify a Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder convertible
