what about tech house or does that sound too much like minimal? regardless, it does seem like the trend of the "it" sound tends to get deeper and further away from the mainstream.

think about it from trance to prog to electro to minimal. more repetitive and irritating to the casual listener.

Actually, I've found its the opposite. In any case the genre you are playing has nothing to do with the quality of your music, its your ability to find good music, whatever the genre, that does.


Theres trance that sounds shit to the casual listener, as with minimal, as with everything. And there is music in all those genres which sound very good to the casual listener.

Good point that there's good music in each genre. However, most people that don't know much about music like trance or house more than the other genres mentioned. Usually the prog and minimal listeners are more "educated".
