DJ's bitching about other DJs is nothing new. Who cares if it's true or not.

Actually you should open your eyes.
There's a difference between being a fanboy and knowing hell of a lot of a Dj. He is one of them. You should read TA more if you think he's a fanboy; because even this guy criticised ISOS 5 in a fair way. It's not because you honestly attempt to give Tisto some credit where he deserves it (he gets bashed too much anyway) that you're immediately have to be seen as a fanboy...

Nothing more or less than all those people with Guns 'n Roses tattoos on their bodies.

that was long time back, not now.

What the fuck are you basing your bullshit statements on. They still play each other's tracks to this day and even though Tiesto has a reason to "hate" Pvd after that infamous interview with Paul but I'm sure he let it go by now. And why excactly do you think Tiesto would hate on Armin for?

....he called him a dead face......? .....really? Wow, he's been my favorite producer since 'AREA 2', I've had the pleasure of meeting the man a bunch of times (and non of that quick hi-goodbye you get with an autograph crap), listened and read so much and he always seemed like smart guy. Not to say that he doesn't have his reasons but........No, really......a dead face?

Don't let it bother you. He looks like ET 20 years from now in disguise anyway. There. That's my bitching done.

when was this, if i'm recalling correctly, tiesto played at pvd's 2004 love from above, so they must have been buddies then, as pvd tends to only invite people he really likes,

i.e. sasha, nick warren ....

He was No1. back then so with his new found fame, he'd be friends with as many as he could, all happy backslapping and everything. I'm sure he's genuine friends with some DJs.

He's probably calling him "Dead face" out of spite or jealously or whatever.

PVD might have the same attitude with other producers too.

hi pvdangel,

i don't like that board, i'd rather get a non-biased opinion from TA,

one thing is for sure pvd has changed over the last 2 years,

he is very u.s. focused, which is much to my disliking and this year's sets have been pretty poor.

pvd is doing way to much for vonyc, he should stick to djing and producing some decent trance productions.

no more crappy vocal stuff,

i agree with pvd commenting negatively on tiesto's disney set, the whole thing was so embarassing to listen to,

trainwreck haven and that frigging MC announcing Tiesto No.1,
the worst was the MC shouting "show tiesto your appreciation" , wtf

pvd has to be careful he doesn't get caught up in the same marketing train as tiesto did.

so far he pvd has managed to avoid that and i' sure once his new material is out a lot of people will be pleased.

come on pvd, "out there and back 2" that's what we want

No. Tiesto was booked to fill Columbiahalle. When Tiesto was on PvD fucked off to Columbiafritz to see Timo Maas - along with anyone else who had a clue - until he had to be back on for his second set.

He's made it clear on several occassions what his thoughts on Tiesto are.

I agree. "out there and back 2"? lol

Did you read the news lately? Click

Sorry but tiestoh4xing will never die!!

Posted by pvdclubber on Sep-17-2006 11:34:

that's fair enough, but he still must have been on good terms,

plus love from above sells out anyway, just because of pvd, so tiesto wasn't necessarily needed.

the event has a very low entry price, roughly 8 pounds and good line-ups,

That's not true either. They struggled massively to fill it in 2003. Booking Tiesto was just clever marketing - because the place was fucking packed to the rafters. I'm am certain the booking will have been made with a sense of bitterness though, but they didn't really have much of a choice. Tiesto serves no place in a club like that.

that doesn't make sense mate!!!
tiesto played in 2003 and 2004 at love from above,

if tiesto didn't pull the punters in 2003 why would he suddenly pack the place a year later?

I was as surprised as you were about Tiesto being booked there for 2004.
Of course, Tijs can now participate @ Love Parade and clubs like e-werk thanks to his other connections with Shah and co. these days... but i believe he jumped at the chance to get to play over the LP weekend back then.

Regarding marketing, its oh so very true, no Tiesto fan can deny, he has the marketing of some corporate company, sadly missing the whole freaking point of MUSIC or DJing... but just about the $$$$. Fortunately for all this has tainted Tijs, his image, his fanbase, his parties... there is STILL a human being underneath all that.

What i have thoroughly enjoyed this year (despite not following PvD's scene) is the low-key approach to winning the award he has made. Apart from playing the award ceremony last November, I didn't really notice he was number 1. Respect for that.

I just wish Tiesto would've had the balls to stand up against his marketing team earlier than now... because the last 3 years have indeed proved very destructive to his reputation from 'real' clubbing communities.

Tiesto has asked for no votes, because he won't actually gain shit from it. What would happen (through some miracle) if Oakey, Sasha, Digweed, Cox or Tijs got back to number 1... they wouldn't even give a shit... because in my opinion they are above the award now.

I also believe thats true of PvD... he has waited so freaking long to win it, and when he did, he already knew that he was above the award, and didnt pay much attention to it, after accepting it.

Now the only person who is underneath the award still (and who stands to gain something from winning) is Armin. The guy has run out of ideas to copy and steal from the other big hitters... its bound to be his turn sooner or later.

Because his popularity soared so much in Germany that year.

No shit. But that doesn't mean booking another popular name won't help pull in a crowd. (Although having said that, until recent times PvD has never been that big a name in Berlin either.)

i've been clubbing in berlin a few times,
ever since he started playing in the e-werk 1997 he has been a legend in berlin, your assumption is wrong,

his following in tresor was also massive,

Folk in Berlin tend to be more tolerant about big names; they don't hype about them as much as some of us do. Well, that's what I've heard.

very true, if pvd plays in berlin ,the underground will know about it and fill the venue,

no big marketing necessary,

it's nice that way as you tend to get people that really go for the music
