Tix for Summer School (when S&D played together in Vic) was like $40.

Even though Fridays are no longer gay night at Celebrities and the fact that it's not really even a gay club anymore, I'd just like to point out that historically, dance music was played at gay clubs before it made it anywhere near regular clubs.
Have fun at Armin @ Plush though. I'm sure the heterosexual paradise that is Plush will play a great host until the fights break out!

hmm...now we're talking history. proof or stfu.
now here's something that needs no proof: not all electronic music has evolved from the afro-american gay scenes. so don't come and tell me, i need to appreciate gay clubs because they started this genre. that's plain rights bullshit.
don't take me the wrong way though, i'm not trying to discriminate against homosexuals, its just not my scene.
well, its my loss right. i guess my first sasha night is gonna have to wait...
being one of the most friendliest gay cities in north america, we sure have lots of homophobes
maybe all good trance parties should be held at celebrities, that will sure weed out the bad apples
?????get your facts straight.
1.Nowbody asked anyone to "APPRECIATE ANYTHING" !
2.DEFO history of electronica was not the issue either and never was discussed so no reason
to convelute things!
3.If anybody has the passion or love for a DJ/Music and wants to support their fav.DJ..etc,
i think as long as their life is not thretened they should not cry about things and wether
or not its a gay/straight Venue!
4.Discrimination???lol!

fire them off to me at [email protected]
In all honesty, I'm sure there will probably be the same percentage of gays/straight at Armin as there will be at Sasha. Just because a club is historically gay does not mean that it's full of gay people and just because a club is dubbed straight doesn't mean it's an all heterosexual place.
Coincidentally, I've probs seen a bigger gay crowd at Tiesto Commodore than say Sharam at Celebrities.

HMMMM... Sasha at a gay club?
I guess in that line of thinking you could say don't go to Dooms Night because it's probably going to be a big hockey crowd there.. since the venue IS an ice rink a lot of the rest of the time.
Different promoters & DJs pull different crowds. Those 2 factors outweigh the influence that the venue has. The same people that would come out to that promoter's shows or to see that DJ will still come out to that venue so it's a ridiculous thing to get hung up on. Though personally I'd rather not party around the type of people who have a problem with having a relatively small percentage of gay crowd that will come out. I'll take partying around 10% gay crowd over 10% gangster/thug any time.

I dont see a problem with partying at a "gay" club
Its not like youre going to turn gay because you go there
Are people really this insecure of their sexuality ?

Great words, DJ NEMESIS.
I used to live in Halifax and the only decent club that managed to pull weekly progressive nights and bring big name DJ's like Ferry was Reflections, a gay club. And really if one really enjoys quality music he or she shouldn't care that much about the place being gay.
