Many applications will also leave preference files in your library that you may want to locate and ditch if you're getting rid of programs. Only takes a simple system search for those, but they wouldn't interfere with anything if you were to leave them there.

Apple TV and iPhone

looks like its gonna be another big year for apple...Jobs presented some pretty cool new gadgets comin out this year at CES this morning..

thats a sexy lookin phone..

9:27am - "You should go with your codename -- I might call this iTV five times, but it's Apple TV. You can buy great content on iTunes... and you can put that content on your iPod. Now you can buy a widescreen TV and hook up an Apple TV to it, and wireless transmit that content to your bigscreen TV. It's that simple. Let's look at the back to refresh ourselves. USB 2, Ethernet, WiFi, HDMI, component, audio, and optical out." Same as it was September, no real surprises here.

9:29am - "Let me tell you more about what this box does. 720p high def video. It's got a 40GB hard drive, which comes in handy for something I'm about to show you... and 802.11b/g/n, and an Intel processor. It's a really cool box. It works with video, music, and photos. You can auto-sync content from your PC, and you can stream content from up to 5 computers."

9:30am - "Let's examine this in a little more detail. Just like in iTunes you can setup your Apple TV -- take my 10 most recent unwatched movies and it'll automatically stream in the background to Apple TV and be stored on the hard drive. So whenever I got to watch something, they're there. I can stream wirelessly from five computers. I can watch it from other computers in the house but it's not stored on the hard drive. PCs or Macs, I just choose the computer of my life." [A MacBook Pro.]

9:31am - Showing screensaver, shows your photos on your TV. Here's what it looks like, Movies, TV shows, Podcasts, music... we have all my movies that are stored on my Apple TV. I can also look at theatrical trailers, streaming right from Apple.com." I'm gonna watch one called the Good Shepherd, let's watch this... " It's demoing live, but somehow we doubt this is 720p, especially on a 40-foot screen. Whatever it is, it looks pretty good. "You can sit on your couch and watch theatrical movie trailers on your Apple TV.

True and if you ever had to make that call to 911 and the battery dies, You be dead.

the software on the phone probably gives the mp3 player limited access to the battery... if the battery's lower than a certain minimum charge, no mp3 capabilities, just phone

i think they were also talking about using two seperate batteries, that could be charged with one charger

I saw this coming since the announcement. Apple is now being sued over the IPhone.

Like they say, its the most ridiculous law suite ever. There are several companies that have been using the name iPhone for quite some time in VOiP context.

Posted by EarnYourKeep on Jan-11-2007 18:59:

everyone seen it coming lol even apple themselves knew they'd get sued over announcing the branding

i just got out of a meeting with microsoft and the whole topic came up, these MS guys are pretty nifty I admit, I didn't know the iphone was actually running the same kernal as OSX, which has LIMITLESS CAPABILITIES if indeed the piece is running an os kernal as powerful as osx's. i guess i need to start reading some more but the advancement is groundbreaking nonetheless, still not a fan since it's an ipod related product but the technological leap is unparalleled at this point.

Posted by InterMilan31 on Jan-11-2007 19:05:

bottom line if its running any form of OSX im getting it as the current PDAs with the Windows Mobile pisses my Mac happy ass off

Posted by getfoul on Jan-14-2007 05:31:

Adium X is by far the best client out there for Mac chatting.

With that said, I just got my first windows piece of hardware ever. Picked up an IBM T60p centrino duo and 2 gigs of ram. Within the first week of owning it, it's crashed 3 times, but my 17 inch powerbook has been on the whole time next to it mocking it.
