Rasta

Yeah hamilton is a boring place, when I went to mac, I couldn't wait when I was done last year...i feel sorry for the people in hamilton, have to commute to T.O. for a decent party...

so I know this is totally random, but since its Halloween I decided to go to Quarters, thinking whatever I'll be drunk I can handle the shitty music. Turned out I COULDN'T. I left half an hour after I got there, it was absolutely the worst thing I have ever experienced. I don't know how these people can listen to that shit. Plus the person djing was HORRID, like theyy= couldn't mix worth shit, like not at all. Mind you I guess I shouldn't expect much from a place like that.
Okay rant over. Sorry about the random, I just figured people here are the only ones that understand how shitty the music they play at these clubs are.

You weren't drunk enough.

Next time, pound back at least 5 shots in 2 mins, then continue to drink until you're willing to dance to whatever shit is being played.

Unfortunatly no. There's a bit of a dress code. You don't have to get all fancied up. Nice jeans (no rips) and a shirt will be fine - what you usually wear to Guv. No running shoes either. You don't have to wear high heels (by God, I don't even own a pair). Just nicer looking shoes. I don't think you can wear white shoes (I don't get that). Anyway you'd better be there!

I have been at barcode a few times recently after I finish work. I work at Sizzle in Hess and FINALLY the cover guy believed me and extended club courtesy to me (no cover). This will make me come more often, along with many of the people I work with. Also, since Chris Briscoe has been playing at the third floor of Koi Saturday nights he has been attracting more and more of a crowd. While you may have to deal with some mainstream music on your way up to the third floor, Briscoe always has the room jumpin with dirty beats. A couple weeks ago he brought a whole crew of his friends to play the bongos and drums. They had a killer vibe goin on. More and more recently the bottom floor of Sizzle has had a dj bumping hard house beats later on in the night. Im not sure of the name he goes by but Extraordinare comes to mind. On anther issue, with Owen back in town as of today (welcome back buddy), O Lounge is bound to start gaining some crowds on his party nights. He tells me he has some good stuff planned for the next couple months and he has quite a following. None the less, I will be at barcode now and then in the next few months.

Right on Briscoe was in the 246 Comp Finals last year.

Check out

10-11:30- Matt S
11:30-12:30- JC
12:30-3:00 Deko-ze
3:00-4:00- M. K

Matt S is also in the competition at TOI this time around, I've made him a resident, this guy plays house really proper.

And need I say more :

DEKO-ZE

Come by if your from the industy, better to sign yourself up on the guest list or email [email protected] and let us know your coming.

Yeah I heard Matt S live on club246 this Wednesday night, I think he won the competition. I agree with you that he plays house the way it is meant to be played. Good job on getting him in on the residency.

Barcode

By the way Barcode, I have gained a reputation the club I work at as "the guy to ask" regarding afterhours clubs. Whenever people are in from out of town and ask about an after hours club, for some reason they are referred to me by the rest of the staff. I always refer them to Barcode, as I wish to do all I can to promote the EDM in my city.

When wre you there? We finished for the season early June this year, and capped things off with a fashion show. There were 1 or 2 nights less than 20 people came out last season....cause every night, this season (since oct. 20th), has been good so far.

I'm from Nightdreamer, and we do all the bookings and promotion for the club....so I guess you can take what I say with a grain of salt having sad that, anyone that knows me knows I call em' how I see em', and have even trashed my our parties from time to time. lol.
We're only 4 weeks in and I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. I've only been back for 2 of the fridays. My "homecoming" party was Nov. 3rd and that was jammed to capacity (about 140-150). i love watching the dancefloor for the balcony lounge when it's a party like that ...last week was a slow start, but it was about %80 full near the end of the night. We've only had locals and our Nightdreamer dj's provinding the tunage so far, and eveyone seems to enjoy.
....anywho...don't listen to me, come and decide for yer self.
add me to msn is yer coming around, and I'll put you on g-list.
[email protected]

We do have some heavy bookings comin up, and since no one cared Maxx whored his flyer out, I think I'll do the same. I'm so amped for Adam Duke. The Dukes are definatly one of my fav toronto guys to listen to....it's too bad KF Duke is living in ottawa now, and they don't get to play together that much anymore.

JELO is also confirmed for Dec. 22nd. it's not on this flyer so I thought i'd toss that in

If you wanna see some pics of the club check out

As for other places in Hamilton....
seduction productions has some good parties and some wicked dj's come thru, but right now it doesn't look like they have a steady home. Last I heard they're doing 110 catherine street, and I just got an e-mail about them doing the basment of The Embassy on king street now. good parties but a little too much of the comfort-zone-esqe type of crowd for my personal taste.

Barcode/lush isn't bad at all....especially if you can't make it to t-dot for the saturday night. Same type of crowd lushed used to have. The best sound system in the hammer easily. good tunes, but unless it's sydney blu or deko-ze, there's a little too much space on the dance floor. As for 200 peple being there now? me and my cousin went on nov. 4th, there were more people at The O the night before, and The O is a smaller venue too. I was lovin' the dj. Mikal Curcio I think?

I forgot to mention. Chris Brisco is throwing monthlys at Absinthe on king st east. The last one was last thursday, so the next won't be for 4-5 weeks. I think they're on the third thusday of every month.
He normaly has Heidi Kazimira, Jason Dove and a few other locals on the rotation.

I haven't had the cance to go, because there's only been on jam since I've been back from Calgary. unfortunatly I was busy that night.
If you've never been to Absinthe, it's a wicked little club to goto. 2 floors. both hold just under 200 people. The upstairs has really high roof, and the basement is...well.. a basment. but a good vibe down there. The upstairs is use mostly for live bands and things of that nature.

When I hear of the next one, I'll let you guys know
