it's not stupid if he has trepidation about going up. it's his right.

Your right, it is his right to be afraid based on one incident. That still doesn't make it not stupid. It's a completely illogical reaction to a news event.

He's basing his life on some incident that didn't change anything in the greater scheme of the world, and that occurred completely out of his control. It's not as though suddenly there's been a recall of that type of plane (if he's even flying the same type). It was a freak accident, and events similar have happened before and will, without a doubt, happen again. If it took this one incident to deter him from flying, he probably shouldn't be flying in the first place.

And btw, since when did flying a plane equipped with a parachute that will support the entire plane in case of engine malfunction equate to risky behavior? It's not like he was BASE jumping.

I thought that was highmay's position.

Anyhow, sorry if you're offended, I just think it's too bad for you that you would change your mind over this event. Your loss, not mine.

You know what, I was on the train coming home from work and I remember I think it was on Monday, but on Mike and the Mad Dog's radio show, both Mike and the Mad Dog was highly criticizing the Yankees down to the point of individual players, Cory was mentioned and I remember hearing Cory call in saying he wanted to defend himself. Also remember Mike and the Mad Dog criticizing Cory real heavily while he was on the phone with them...

Really really sad

Today, they said, "Boy do we both feel horrible about that interview now..."

was it necessary to come off with arrogance though? you're entitled to your opinion, he is too and leave it at that? i don't see how what he said was stupid. That type of recommendation or suggestion about cancelling is something your mom or anyones mom would suggest but we don't go saying their opinion would be stupid.

ease up a bit man

What the fuck was so arrogant about this?

Why does this incident make any difference, unless you're planning to quit flying completely now?

Just because you want to read it as though I'm being arrogant (because apparently, in your eyes, I am), doesn't mean that it was. If you re-read that last page, you'll see a lot of attacks of me for even raising the issue, not me "attacking" intermilan31. My responses got progressively more defensive after I was called a jackass and as other people chimed in, not arrogant.

Not to add fuel to the fire, but Ryan just asked a question, it was the reply he got that called him a 'jackass.' Even after that, he just asked another question. It was only after being provoked that he got snippy.

Posted by EarnYourKeep on Oct-11-2006 23:36:

hey you are forgetting i asked a question too LOL

ok ok no more of this

You're basically arrogant about everything. If you think you're right about everything, do us a favor and stop wasting your time on what's right and wrong with every post on this message board and go fix all the problems in the world. If not, I'd suggest you cool it chief.

i'm going to keep it at that.

going back on topic

very sad day. condolences to the Lidle family.

Wow I nominate Groundhog Boy for #1 case of tone coming out wrong on the internet. I can see him saying these things as he chews a steak, avoiding the onions. His meaning is completely different, in a way "arrogant," sure, if you wanna call it that, but in a sarcastic, extremely intelligent way, and the word tongue-in-cheek comes to mind often. ARRG I'm not making any sense and I'm probably coming off with the same incomprehensible tone that GHB is. I'll leave it at that.

And btw Vern, did it ever occur to you that YOU might be wrong? Just to take the focus off GHB for a sec, I found YOUR post inane because I can't remember a starker case of misinterpretation in TA history.

Vtec saw the place fly into the building and called me laughing his ass off, what a prick
