We need harmison to step up today. On his day he's as good as anyone, on his offday, well you saw yesterday

Nah. he has about 3 places where he's bowled really well in the world, and the rest are just average. He's very good in South Africa, West Indies & England.

Posted by gumble on Nov-24-2006 00:26:

haha, well maybe the pitches over there are twice as wide!

Posted by Ian on Nov-24-2006 00:38:

the lad is just so out of form, there's not much I can say, he must feel like shite. Fortunately Jimmy Anderson is hitting form again. Were Simon Jones fit, I think we could rest harmy, but sadly we're going to miss the welshman.

Reasons why we miss Jones

From baggygreen.com.au

"102.6 Harmison to Hussey, no run, another wide one. Bucknor doesn't call it but probably because his arms are getting tired"

Sounds like the story of the day so far lol.

haha yeah the poor boy is struggling to keep it within the keepers reach let alone the batsman. Ah we will have to wait till england get a chance to bat before making any definitive judgements on their form. should be interesting though!

Haha 2 x 6's in a row, great fun unless youre an english bowler

Posted by Ian on Nov-24-2006 09:14:

well, it seems we're fucked. Let's hope we can salvage a bit of pride & hit 200 tomorrow

Posted by TCB on Nov-24-2006 11:06:

as long as my fav player pietersen is still in there is always hope of an eventual draw.

a draw is basically a win for england now.

bell/pietersen
and then flintoff have to put together 2 big partnerships to try to get to 350-400 by mid day 4 then bat the 2nd innings to the end of day 5 for the draw.

i still have faith.

People slag the Aussies for having an older team, but look at there experienced seasoned test match players, and they can bad right the way down the order. Also it helps having the two best bowlers in world cricket for the last 10 years.

Trescothick is a blow. Hopefully Vaughan will get fit soon. But his injury can ruin his career. Jones is a better batter than Read, but he is a donkey behind the stumps. Flintoff is probably the wrong choice for captain.

Our batsman have no disipline. Cook has made some great knocks, and Bell is coming along nicely. Collingwood is a bit dodgy. McCrath just bowls consistant line and length, yet they still fish for shots which aint there. They should be more selected with there shots and put away the bad balls. Warne usually always wins the mind games, but it will be an intresting battle between Pieterson & Warne tomorrow!

I think we will miss Simon Jones greatly, the one real bowler that can swing the ball in, and then get the away swinger going the very next ball. Great bowler, who caused the Aussies great trouble last ashes.

I think the ball is going to be flying past our ear all winter!
