Why would somebody limit themselves and say "I'm only ever going to use hardware" or "I'm only going to use software"? The more tools you have available, the more creative you can be! And that crap about frustration making your music better is a load of sh*t. Maybe that works for some people, but definitely not me!

hahahahaha.... i saw this while i was lookin through OLD forums... and i wanted to say that the worst programs i've used... or seen been used for makin muzik are...

1.) MTV music generator
2.) ANYTHING E-Jay
3.) Fruity somethin (that one that's just about exactly like MTV music generator)

and that's all... =oP

Posted by robstar on Apr-01-2002 18:28:

Dont diss MTV music generator. Its a very good program if u know how to use it.
I used to make music with it on my Psx. The bad thing with it is the soundquailty , other then that its pretty good!

Posted by DJ-Fuq on Apr-02-2002 12:30:

Its not fruityloops thats nearly the same as mtv music generator, its music 2000.

i know a lot of prodcurer that was signed to a label using only software like Ft2 ,modplug ,buzz aned mastering it with Hardware.
Well most of they are still using software to make their track and are are great track .So.........there isn't anything to say else

See ya

Posted by robbyrob on Apr-03-2002 19:25:

there are alot of artsit that are making very very tight songs with software. i know that i have been in my life to 2 studios, and both of them had logic and reason.. that has to say something!

peace!

I've heard a few decent tunes made on a tracker. It's not the programs or the hardware, it's how you use them. I'm sure Britney Spear's music was produced using high end hardware, but the results aren't pretty. Great hardware does not = great music.

Posted by NIGHTERROR on Apr-03-2002 20:31:

Hehehehehehe Britney Spears suck............

Agree with ya there... programs or hardware doesnt make good music.

2. Kraftwerk? You mean the band that did a tune called "ComputerLove"?

Bleh

Sorry, Been busy lately. Ok, Computers do do all the work for you. Why do you think people were once worried about computers takeing over their jobs? And yes Kraftwerk did do a song called that in 1981, And your point being....?

Posted by Peter Campbell on Apr-09-2002 07:36:

lol Extulas, we still going?

now if it were 100 years ago would you be one of those people worried
about electricity taking over candle light?

Posted by Verona^My on Apr-09-2002 07:38:

LMAO, so true. Having grown up on computer game music, I just dont care how a record is produced. I just care about the results.

Ok, Computers do do all the work for you.

Explain this, please.
Does your computer write your intelligent comments by itself?
Does your computer go on even if you don't push the power button?
FYI - a computer is only as smart as the stuff installed in it and the person using it.
You could put on Reason and wait for a week and it STILL wouldn't had done a tune... it's not like hardware presets, u know...

Oh, nothing, just a thought...

I could give you a 10 track list and I'd bet ANYTHING you couldn't tell which tune is made with software and which is hardware... u up for it?

you could probly tell the difference between a softsynth and a hardware synth, but theres no way you could tell between a hardware secquencer and a software one.

my point is software goes hand and hand with hardware these days

I use Red Hat and Debian, So no, It doesnt. But if your a sucker on a Windows machine, Then yes, I would be. You dont get what I mean? I mean: Computer software does the work for you. Everything. How can I explain?! Its one of those things you know, But cant explain. Maybe cause Im not use to clicking a button to make things work on my computer like some people. And yes, I would like a tracklist of 10 songs, And I will post on here what I think it is. So everyoen can see if I am wrong or right. Just a thought on what...? I dont get it...

Personally, I'd rather use software over any hardware (even if money is not an issue).

How so? The only reason software is damn popular is because you can download it off "Warez" sites and channels. You cant download hardware! (Yet!)
