Esperanca really, really moved me the first time I heard it. Danny Tenaglia introduced me to the track and it instantly became one of my favorites of all time.

I'll never forget when he played that on Canada Day of 2004. He had just finished a 2 hour barrage of banging techy tribal when he played Esperanca. Shortly thereafter, he played Shapeshifters - Lola's Theme. = me

Simon and Shaker and Peter Bailey are great picks...

I'm groovin to the 16 Bit Lolitas lately.. although not purely tribal they use some pretty cool percussion.

16bit lolitas is not tribal at all, not even close

Go back and read my post. I didn't say they were tribal.

Then go listen to Sedna and come back and tell me that isn't a tribal perc.

i clearly read what you wrote, you said "although not purely tribal..."

this is sedna

and i fail to see any tribal resemblance in it and any of their other tracks.

not even the percussion is "tribally"... Dennis, are you talking about a remix of it maybe?

16Bit Lolitas and Tribal is a complete oxymoron.

Nope, that's the remix that I play. I don't know if you've ever heard it on a system (you likely have, you go out more than I do!) but I personally notice the percs resemble a cool tribal beat when the track really kicks in.

But again, I realize that they aren't a tribal act, hense my original post. I just mentioned that I'm listening to them lately and Yohan MAY like them if he likes tribal house because I find the two sounds go together quite well.

It appears as though I have hijacked this thread. Sorry. As you were people!

I'm quite aware of 16bit lolitas. Puppet Show is decent tune as well.
