wtf indeed

dun worry though..our PVD will be 1.

If that list is accurate, I suspect we will see a very big DJ-driven boycott of the poll....although, isn't DJ Mag being sold anyways?! so this is probably a moot point.

the scene is actually doing pretty damn good right now, you should know this dude...the quality of music being put out as of late has been the best it has been in a long long time...as well, the quality of sets from all the big guns have been top notch as of late....

this poll is just rediculous tho...

anyhow, i guess its safe to confirm now that this list isnt about which dj is the most skilled but whom the public will pay the most money to see

well I dont think this even supposed to be a contest about skill (and it shouldnt be), it is about popularity but i think some what to do with who can rock the fuckin house and who knows the music and has a certain style, and it is supposed to be somewhat of a representation of the global scene..this list is def. NOT a rep. of the global scene.

I know..and I think thats why guys like Tiesto posted on his site to not vote for him.

Posted by Spike on Oct-26-2006 01:31:

can some1 post a list of the poll

its not on the djmag site and a google yielded nothing

Posted by Irishaddict on Oct-26-2006 01:33:

Any account for the My Space influence...

Not taking anything away from those on the list.. but each day that DJ Dan added people he also posted a bulletin that said.. "To those I added today - Please take the time to vote for me."

Also.. Donald Glaude also a big pusher on My Space is up 22 spots.

Just a thought..

#32. SANDER VAN DOORN New Entry

Not bad for a new entry.
I am actually kinda surprised at the whole top 100. A lot of newer entries and some huge movement down for some of the DJ's too.

that's a very good point actually...considering there were only a few hundred thousands votes total that could make a big difference.

Posted by Spike on Oct-26-2006 01:42:

christ, im surprised to see pvd still at the top spot

Posted by slingshot on Oct-26-2006 01:48:

one good thing about the poll tho....

highest new entry - john aquaviva

Posted by Dancing*Queen on Oct-26-2006 02:04:

Who are 1/2 the new entries, I haven't even heard of most of them

And how the heck did Gareth Emery enter so high on the poll?? He is good, but really now! Some of these results I just don't get. *shakes head*

Thats weird especially cos PVD has never been big on voting and the rest of it. Well, its his management...cant really blame him.

Re: myspace

Out of all of them I gotta say Filo & Peri drove me the most crazy. Their shit was plastered everywhere.

Posted by rabbitjoker on Oct-26-2006 02:18:

There is no reason for DJ Dan of all people to be that high.

I could deal with PvD being number one last year (for no good reason) but now this poll is nothing more than a mutual masturbation fest for DJ Magazine and their cronie DJs.

If something like vote-flogging and MySpace can corrupt the industry's "fan favorite" poll then the DJ Magazine TOP100 no longer has *real* relevance (it is not longer a "fan favorite" poll).

The list is supposed to be about who performed the best, who produced the best, who innovated the most - not who can spam up the most votes via perpetual emails/message-board-posts/myspace-begging.

Frankly, I'm pretty sad to see the list for this year.

+1

That is the most ridiculous list EVER!

WOW...wtf...WHERE is Adam Beyer!? So many unknown deejays(to me at least) debuting at such high spots!

DJ Dan?! :|

I wasn't talking about the quality of music, but more about the lack of appreciation for quality music, especially when you have DJ's like Sasha, Digweed, Zabiela, Deep Dish, Burridge, Howells and so forth losing spots to DJ's like DJ Dan, Chris Lawerence, and so forth...then there's something wrong.

I guess I'm stating the obvious though, lol

Posted by King Luis on Oct-26-2006 02:23:

tiesto should be lower and yoji and lisa lashes should be higher.

Posted by sufee_b on Oct-26-2006 02:26:

so so stupid in so many ways..how could people like tiesto, pvd, avb, sasha and digweed who can easily fill up places with 10,000 people be even in the same league as someone who cant even fill up TiL....

Posted by geroin on Oct-26-2006 02:49:

swedish house mafia alone should be on top 10 for so many amazing releases they've done this year
what the hell did dj dan do this year? what about tiesto?

In defence of Chris Lawrence, at least he's got his own sound. (darker, more psy ish trance)

Though I don't think he deserves a top 10 spot. Top 25 maybe.
