I absolutely loathe the guv..

- obnoxious crowd
- overcrowdedness
- sound is shit (main room)
- same talent recycled
- sketchiness

And for special events...^^ x1000

Everytime I go to the Guv it's more like a chore for me...I hate getting there...putting up with crap...and trying so hard to enjoy myself. Won't be going back anytime soon.

I dont think the problem is asians at electronic venues in toronto. its only a certain kind of idiot that happens to be asian most of the time (mainly those who are 50 and do random stupid things).

I mean for example, chinamon may be random but hes not a cracked out idiot (usually) LOL!!!

I could never hate the guv.....but I don't look forward to nights at the Guv anymore...I haven't been to a MO night in ages and even when they have international DJs there it takes a lot of effort to convince myself to go....I don't think its the Guv as much as its me and starting to feel partied out.

Im semi with you, but its more Im partied out to partying to trance at clubs...

at clubs I need techno.

I stillfucking love it at house/cottage parties when TA DJs are droping trance tracks and sets, but at clubs its not doing anything for me anymore...

and I still listen to trance all the time on my compy... about 40/60 trance/techno.

it's the coolest and the most chilling place on the planet.

Aside from that main room is alrite but only on certain spots.
I hate the drink to the max, it's my least favorate of the whole complex.
Skybar is cool.
kool haus not my cup of tea.

And about the asians, they never botherd me so i have no reason to hate them.

p.s i miss the gallery (been 4-5 month now)

I agree with the above...to me times are better now when I'm with my crew. I can be anywhere with all my friends and have a blast. Once upon a time it was the scene that drew me in.

I like the Guv for some events - but I agree the Gallery is great, Drink bites, and the Sky Bar rules. Kool Haus is nice for epic danceathons to Trance but the Guv is better suited in its closer quarters and darkness to Haus.

You guys in Canada are spoiled by the Guv though - for those us without access to megaclubs, it is an event to get to go to the Guv for those huge all-access nights. Granted, it can become close quarters and get a bit snug but after a point, it clears out a bit and the tunes keep coming.

I dont mind the asians at all. They are doing thier thing and they dont bother you at the guv. In viva it might be a different story, but they are still nice and dont mean any harm. So let the asians have thier fun !!!

Ill take an asian crowd over the CWC any day

i never have problems going through the crowd anywhere... jus pat on the persons back, smile, say exuse me and go .. no one will get mad at you this way and people usualy smile back

Thats what clubbing is usually all about.

Lots of people, big room, sweaty, and dancing their asses off

I think we should all be thankful for clubs like the Guv. I mean where else can you party all night and be surrounded by people with the same love of Techno/House,etc. Also I love the Guv's main room for the laid back dress code. You can dress comfortably there and just be your self.
As far as Asians are concerned they are beautiful, friendly people and just mind their own business.I don't understand why people even need to bring this up. Maybe they should crawl out from under their rocks and go there for a vacation and see just how good and interesting it is there.

I have no quams with the guv. The only thing I tend to dislike is when they have a 'all rooms' event and there is a one way traffic rule in effect. Don't get me wrong, I understand why this is done, but I hate the fact that it takes me half an hour to get back to the kool haus if i go outside to have a smoke.

On the plus side, the tunnel of death (the hallway between the guv and the orange room) is no longer as chaotic

There is a difference between a packed club and a club with so many people you can't move a centimetre, people are falling all over themselves and the thickness of the sweat in the place makes it hard to breathe. I've complained about Guvernment being like this ONCE in all the times I've gone there and I sure as hell wasn't alone. Stop picking useless arguments.

i dont see you complain about it much. But a lot of people do constantly. many times if they dont have flailing room they are upset. Thats all.

I really like the Guv....

I do live in windsor though so getting to the Guv is a treat that only comes a couple of times a year which makes me enjoy it so much i think...

i could do without some of the annoying ass ppl who go though...
some ppl are so effin rude.. but you can find that ANYWHERE not just at a bar

so over all... i enjoy the Guv.. its always a good time and i looove getting to party it up with Shanny and Fraser (when he comes) every once and while because i miss and love them!
