You can't possibly know how much the opposite sex lies; it's entirely perception.
I don't think it's fair to generalize and say one sexe lies more than the other. It's on a person to person basis. Some people lie, some don't. There is also a huge difference between little white lies and big lies that could potentially hurt someone. I try to be as straight up as possible, but everyone tells little lies now and then. Sometimes it's just the easier thing to do and avoids uneeded drama.
Example, telling someone they are right just so they will shut up, because in your head you really know you're right, and that's all that matters.

Women don't lie, they just say the truth on their distorted view of reality.
We, men, just don't have the millions of years of evolution that women had in that domain.

The study shows that women unconsciously lie when they say that the baby looks like the father to make him feel that he should take his paternal role. Don't forget that way back when, human females just like all animals had multiple partners, to be sure they get pregnant. But once they gave birth, they need a supplier hence they would make one male believe it's his child when it might not have been the case. This unconscious behaviour still exists weather you admit it or not.
