Same here. I was smoking rougly a pack-a-day and my parents always wanted me to quit. So a week later, out of nowhere, i looked into my cig. box and saw i had one cigarette left. Needless to say, it was the most delicious cigarette i ever had and the last one i ever had. It has been over two months now of not smoking. It was suprisingly easy for me to kick the habit as well. I feel if you are strong mentally than you can overcome an easy addiction like cigarettes.

I find it harder to kick the habit of smokin dat weed! I have been clean of anything intoxicating, including alcohol for alittle over a month. I always wanted to smoke weed tho. It was on my mind everyday and i just kept saying to myself "Damn Mike Jones, you cant be goin around smokin weed your whole life" lol and suprisingly enough i didnt smoke weed. I cant even begin to tell you how much better i was feeling after quitting weed and alcohol.

But anyway, good luck.

If youre going to start smoking, i recommend American Spirit, lights (yellow box). They contain no chemical additives regular brands use.

i discovered its VERY easy to quit smoking when ur flatout BROKE! i ran outta money beginning of semester (and when i say no money i mean NOT A CENT) and havent smoked a cigarette since! my parents have helped me out a litle with money til i get a steady part time job but even still i made a promise not to spend THEIR money on cigarettes. a commitment i am proud that i have been able to stick to

I still havent rejoined my gym, but I plan on doing that very soondefinitely before the end of the year, so Im sure once I get back in workout mode, Ill drop the cigs. Its not that hard for me, I just make up my mind to do it, and I do it.

anyone else just enjoy having a smoke because it's something to do?

yeah thats my problem, when i have nothing to do @ home or when i wanna take a break on something, i just light a smoke....but ive quit for a few days now, doing well

Does 'alt' mean alternate account? Because I'm not. I'm new.

Anyway, I smoked a cig for you today, jenny. I hope your back on the stick. Later.

i'm the same way. there are a few situations where i like to smoke, but other than that i don't really even think about lighting up...

1. if i'm out drinking/partying
2. if i'm drinking a Red Bull
3. long car rides
4. after a good meal
5. during class breaks
6. during work only if i really really need a break

unfortunately the frequency with which i partake in those activities leads me to smoke a fair amount.

btw, congrats on quitting Jenny!

Ha! I'm the same way, I always say that I smoke when I'm out drinking or partying. But when you realize that you do that maybe 3 times a week (or more if I want to be hardcore), then it becomes a problem

I don't believe (in my research) that there are any studies which show that casually smoking (under 5 a day) poses any serious health risk.

I'm usually at around 3 or 4... weekends more of course...

7. When I see hawt people smoking in movies.

lol, it works on me! Same with drinking. If I see dudes getting smashed on whiskey in a film, it makes me want a bottle of Jack right then.

true... but 95% of the time that i'm watching movies i'm usually at home or at RJTs and we are stoned on the couch and cigs are the last thing on my mind then!

A cig after a blaze sesh makes you more stoned but it also kills the longevity of the high.

Posted by lcid on Nov-27-2006 22:49:

i rarely smoke cigs when i'm high... if i'm out at a party and i'm stoned then i'll smoke cigs, but if i'm just stoned at home i'm usually too lazy to go outside for a cig. plus a lot of the time that i smoke cigs it's just for something to do, and if i've got a bong to hit... well, i don't need a cig to occupy me then!

You guys are really making me wish I could just smoke some pot and go to bed instead of reading about intelligent design and going to class.

I swear to God, I'm leaving class early and going to bed at like 7pm tonight.
