I have also seen Digweed play almost a dozen times dating back to 2006, and during that time, I thought his sets delivered more consistently, even though, when Sasha gets it right, he nails it.Since they've been back together I've seen them five times and only one time was less than stellar but it wasn't bad. The other four times have been phenomenal. About 4 or 5 years ago, I saw a Sasha playlist on Soundcloud with 165 sets, and I decided to start at the top and go one by one until I finish the entire playlist. I have 38 left. The sets aren't in any order so you might listen to one from 1991 and then one from 2013, which really works out because you come to appreciate Sasha as a DJ and an artist by listening randomly from different eras and you get to hear him evolve as a DJ and what his music choices were. You have the 1989-1991, 1992-1994,1995-1997,1998-2002,2003-2006,2007-2009,2009-2013,2014-2017, and 2017-2022, and all of these eras offer you something different. I'm glad I am still plugging away at these Sasha playlists, because it's good running or dancing or relaxing, or raging music depending on which Sasha you are getting. I personally, wish I was old enough, and in the U.K. to see him in 1991, then during the mid to late 90's when he was spinning proper trance, then in NYC in the late 90's when he had his residency there. I have heard stories about the nights he spun at Twilo during the late 90's, they were supposedly legendary. It's cool to see an artist that you like progress and I hope he plays as long as he wants to. More power to him. that 2010-2017 Sasha era was ROUGH. As a massive Sasha & Digweed fan, i think they both shit the bed during those years. Just all over the place with zero identity. Much better these days, but both were really boring for nearly a decade

You could say that about them for pretty much any year since about 2003, in my opinion. The only time I've enjoyed them live was when they're B2B. You get more of a feel of the old magic then.

Anyway, since this ancient thread started by talking about Sasha's productions from the early '90s, here's one I've been caning recently from way back in 1991 that some people might not realise was him on the remix:

I've seen Sasha play alone or play along with John Digweed. But to this day I will never forget his 4-hour b2b show in the Guvernment with James Zabiela. They played the sickest breakbeats, ever. They tore the roof off I just love it when Sasha plays breaks because he has an awesome taste for it. His mixing is sublime but that's not new at all. Legend.

Never thought too much of this remix from Sasha, but I heard a DJ play it last night on a good soundsystem and it sounded absolutely massive. These old school Sasha mixes when he had Tom Frederikse twiddling the knobs for him kick really hard in a club. The production is immaculate to this day:

You must've heard a lot of 90's tracks live in its original form. Damn.

Well yeah, and I've also been lucky enough to play a few myself as a DJ. Like his remix of Hysterix - Talk To Me. Sometimes you play a really old track and it tears up far more than you expected it to.
