If you guys want good psy and a wicked vibe, hit up the 'dark rave' style of parties...funhaus, big bop, psy promoters in the city know how to throw a good jam. I saw Cox box once @ The old Boa (270 spadina), it was wicked.

LOL @ LIGHTSHOW DUDE .... LOL!
So individual threads for reviews are all the rage now, eh? I'll keep that in mind.

| Originally posted by Shankar It's Kox Box, to be more exact .Psy trance parties here happen almost every weekend now. They are not "members only" events or anything like that. Anyone is welcome to come. But yes, alot of you seem to prefer the type of psy The Guv provides, and then you complain and moan on "how bad the artist was, etc etc.." In Toronto 3 groups are mainly putting up psy events: Black Light Activists, Shakti Collective and Metamystix. Each and every group puts its maximum effort to organise good quality parties with good deco and nice variety of music. Guvernment doesn't do nearly as much to get you into the right mood. P.S. Dark Rave hardly has any psy anymore. |

wow I cant believe so many ppl didnt like it.
THe music was absolutely amazing, it blew your mind, refreshing and different It was a mix between psy, really dirty psy, hard tech trance and really melodic trance. Seemed like He would switch it up in 20min intervals ... Bits had crazy hard guitar sounds almost like metal, i liked it, the bass was really hard too and the trippy psy melodiesss whoaaa.
Some of you wrote that you didnt hear any transitions. But why would you want to? Transitions is the most boring part, Yahel mixed it great you couldnt even notice the song changing, so there was almost no transitions
Of course more then half of the tracks he played were his own productions, a couple songs from "super set" and "around the world". I remember cosmos, Kamasutra, Automatic, Voyage... classics too i cant remember
2nd song he droped was:
Yahel and Tammy - Liquid Love (Dan Label Feat. Perlock Remix)
OOOMMMMGGGGGGGG, the fucking sickest mix of this song. Crazy guitars make it so much more pumping. Everybody was dancing like crazy soo much energy.
BAD PART:
line up, crowd, venue = complete shit
waited for 50mins to get in, another 20mins for coatcheck. lots of short drunk fucks who were pushing, so u had to push them back. enuff horny fucks trying to pick up chicks i leave my girl for 1minute and 2 show up, lol quick on the scene.
WHAT THE FUCK WAS UP WITH NOT SELLING WATER??????? u had to get a cup and fill it in the bathroom, ghettooooo. Everybody smoking cigarettes, whoaa i had to leave my jacket in the garage to air out. Smoking bylaw enforcement? Not at FLUID. ALtho Fight broke out but was stoped very quick that was crazy, some drunk guy got escorted out in 3seconds tops. I guess FLUID is good in some sense...
Also guess what I've seen Yahel before at guv and while guv is a much better venue his set yesterday was the absolute best ive herd from him so far
Nice seeing Spaniyard, and bunnin a skliff with ya
Cassidy thnx for the tix that was great
All in all, music definately made up for all the bad parts. Definately gone see Yahel again.
