well I was only there for a big chunk in the middle, walked in to Peter Presta spinning (overall he was too slow for me and not as dirty as the zone demands but he played some fun tunes like "Our House, in the middle of our Street"
Nathan played a druggy, more soundscape of set to follow Presta. Crowd ate it up... really created more of a (from what I felt LOST) vibe after Presta.
HOWEVER (don't tell Nathan) the set for me goes to Carlo today. Just hammered that place. Bravo.
(haha this is going to have to be put into a review thread, or I bet this gets put on lockdown because of me putting a review in here)

Nathan killed it in the Drink
Anyone knows what time its open til?
i think 3 or 4 am
closes too early for me to go there now...ill be at sonic
i just wanna say thanks to each and every single person at zone in making today quite possibly one of the best club main events i have seen put togather in To. seeing the reputation the zone follows, how smoothly everything went and how organized it was, i am impressed. new paint job in washrooms. toilets fixed. there were people walking around picking up trash all the time. it was just really good to see everyone work as 1 team to make our experience so enjoyble even though going in didnt expect much.
from set times to line-ups(mind you they were HUGE, but they were fair) to all the djs playing and all the zone staff inside and outside ... ThankYOU!!!
and ofcourse the small but yet the most wonderful group of ppl i was with. Nada, Sasha, Josh, Kelly, Justin, Shelley, Jenn & Jenn, Kris, Graham, Peter, JonJon, Ang, Ann and anyone else that i may seem to be forgetting right now. and what a pleasent surprise from Katie
hun you were having a blast. seeing you dance up a storm with like the biggest smile on your face was really kool. all of you guys are awesome!!!
sets of the day that i heard ... Nathan takes 1st spot. the junkies number 2 and Simon Jain upsatirs sits at number 3.
best moment at the zone was right in the very begining of VJ's set when Till There Was You was played. everyone singing and jumping around ... well you know how the zone has low ceilings in certain areas ... ummm yea guess what happened when i jumped
best thought of the day ... Lightshow & The Neon Alien.
yea don't ask
best quote of the day ... not a FULL one, jus a HALF one
lolz
a day well spent among good friends and fa kin su pah tunes!!!
That was a lot of fun.... my best Zone experience to date.
Awesome vibe.
Although I was chairbound and nursing a wicked hangover, I still had a great time. THe music was on par and the dark, filthy habitats reminded me of places like The Works in Detroit or the rare old school warehouse shindig.
The three most interesting things I saw that qualify as evidence of the sketch of the Zone:
3.) Thinking that the whole crowd was covered by a giant red net and that they were pushing it up everytime they jumped in the air.
2.) Seeing a guy come into my chill room who looked like he had a lion head on.
1.) A woman giving a guy a lapdance in a back corner with her top completely off and boobs out.
I'll def be back to the Zone - it's my kind of dirrrty sketch love and the sound was beautiful - compressed into dark nasty basslines.
I was there for two hours... then I gave up and went home. Good seeing everyone... sorry I just couldnt deal with the temperature in there...
