Wow, 6 in a row. Is that a new record?

Once again, a whole lot of rambling and personal anecdotes that really have nothing to do with either what this thread is about, or what you yourself are trying to say. I'll address the parts I understood:

quote:

Nostrum

I've encountered (and not harmless banter like some would pass it off as) some totally out right meanness.

Buddy, this is the Internet, an INTERNET forum, where 99% of the stuff here is either harmless banter, or just people making fun of others just for the sake of it. Welcome to the Internet.

quote:

Nostrum
So you tell me. How is the average unsuspecting person supposed to compete with that?

You're not. Don't try and stick your nose into someone else's business if you don't see the whole picture. It's simple really.

quote:

Nostrum

The fact that there is rampant misunderstandings with people here that don't have this benefit, seems like some of the most normal/natural thing here.

That's the normal thing anywhere. You basically just walked in onto a community, and are complaining that you don't get the inside jokes or references? Try that in real life, you'll get the same result.

quote:

Nostrum

That was called for, why? Just because it's commonplace doesn't make it right.

If you have a beef with someone's posts, quote THEM in that thread, and ask why they said that, and I'm sure they'll gladly explain. Don't post unrelated crap from other threads here. It just makes things more confusing cause you're all over the place.

quote:

Nostrum

**repeatedly hits border button** Ya can't skip across 2 in one month Jose

Seriously, WHAT?

quote:

Nostrum

But I bet you know her well enough to easily tell the difference

I've actually never met her, or talked to her in any shape or form outside of our arguments on TA. It's something you learn about people as you spend more time on TA. Don't think it's someone else's fault that you don't know what people are like right off the bat when you join. The more time you spend here, the more you learn about them. You judged her, and you got it wrong, so whose fault is that?

quote:

Nostrum

(Yes, I noticed how this thread lays dormant since the 8th and here we 'ALL' are on the 29th, of all things, and theres been some 24 posts other then mine. So, where in the fuck did everybody descend from and since when did my point of view or opinion mean that much to anybody?)

You were the one who bumped it with your quote-athon out of nowhere. What was THAT for?

quote:

Nostrum

As for the balance. From now on, I will call you "Lead Feet".

Do explain. Lead feet? Balance?

Following Nostrum's insightful posts lets all stop this pointless banter and get back to the real purpose of this thread.

How much Shelley likes trance, that is what is really important.

.....it was pretty late when I wrote that and probably had no business posting. I also realized that I hadn't thanked you for your candor and restraint when dealing with me on behalf of others yesterday, HOWEVER!

Ok, for one. I'm going to tell you that I take constructive criticism well and so if you find yourself repeating yourself with words like "rambling" or "dis", the reason for why I persist will likely be on a level that you haven't explored yet. You should be ok with that. You're an academic. I know it's within your scope.

What I feel is way below your scope is that your not looking at the bigger picture here. In this thread and elsewhere. If what you say accurately represent the unwritten rule of this forum, great. I'll abide. Unfortunately, with every elder I consult here, I am offered a different set of unwritten rules.

For the most part, what you've said here, only seems to apply to me. And the rest is weak coming from you. Believe it or not, I have tried to emulate others in the forum as best I can. But from an early point, that was my biggest mistake. I haven't seen anybody reprimanding others for the same things. Anyway, whatever. I t6hink that your kinda stretching things just a bit to suit your point.

Again, the coherency of my particular writing style has only ever come into question here. I'm basing this on a much greater scale then you think. I can only say that, contractually, I am unable at this point to speak freely about some things. (AND i MEAN THAT SO NO ONE ASK, thanks)

Can a person not use personal anecdotes as a point of reference or metaphor if it helps illustrate a point?

Welcome to the Internet? Buddy, as we're calling each other buddy. I was downloading my first Trance tunes in the hay day of Napster when you were 12.

Don't try and stick my nose into someone else's business you say? Doesn't that negate the "quote-a-thon" button? Again, why is that only for me? I would go and give you an example but I would then be critasized for sticking my nose in, rambling, using the quote function incorrectly, drawing extraneous references from other threads, blah blah blah, blah fucking blah.

You're trying to make me swallow the notion that "rampant misunderstandings" is the norm in all facets of society? You're fucked. Sorry but I've already given that too much thought.

You've totaly avoided the point. I used an outside reference to illustrate a point based on the stae of the forum in general. That's allowed. I want to know why others are forced to tears not because of their fragility but because she followed every piece of advice that you have outlined and more. Or for others to contemplate violence as an option for dealing members here for the first time in their lives. Don't disrespect members and shit all over people by skirting this question. I want to know right now.

Don't stick your nose. I realize it was misplaced.

Ya ok. You still didn't answer. What's bump?
Out of nowhere? Do you mean that those 24 posts were sitting there waiting but people had thought that I had forgotten? Only to improperly clean up loose ends? I haven't had that kind of response when posing a thread topic that is actually interesting to me and others. Granted, on innocuous topics like Trance. I know! I really push the envelope!!!! Nutty I tells ya!

Do explain. Lead feet? Balance?

With "balance" I was referring the the remainder of your post. It was late and I was tired.

Lead feet was refering to your "House Rules" post. Good luck with dancing that slow. Must be like having lead feet! LOL

Ok, I promised myself that I wouldn't do this. But. It's so easy proving your point when you take something out of context. Had you included her post with your quote of me and minus the target on my back, I think where I was coming from might have been clearer.

Lol. What? A huge target on your back? Are you kidding? Most people don't even know who you are. Don't register on the radar. (until now). Great enterance by the way! Welcome.

The rest, I don't ever want to read or comment on. (I'm sorry)

Shelley, there was a store in Buffalo called "Rave". Right up your alley.

Nice and thank you, very much. Fuck! From the bottom of my heart, that has to be the most classy level headed thing I've seen in some time.

Not on the radar! You know, you must be the 100th person to say that. That's not good. But first impressions not withstanding, I must be a blip some place..... Or is that some kind of insider back door bump, for which there is no come back?....or something....? Clearly there's more to it....

Bahhh...ya, nice ta meet you tu

When you posted on Monday.. you caused this thread to move from a far off distant page.. back to the first.

People read your comments.. were confused and they posted as such.

Yes, the majority of those who have posted in this thread are friends and understand the inside joke of me loving trance.

Please take the next thing as a nice thing.. this is a public board where people will hold you accountable to what you say. It can create fun banter and it can result in people saying mean things..

None of which happened in this thread.. if you think people are being mean.. address those people. Call them on what they say.. when they say it. Re-read your posts before posting and ensure they are clear.. your not getting anywhere by confusing people further..

If you have questions ask? Don't assume things to be truth without confirming..

This tread is a classic example of why people should take a little time to get to know/understand something new (in this case TOTA) before jumping in headfirst and making themselves look ignorant.

The ignorance is known, obvious and even expected. You seem to use it as if it were a bad word. It's simply just a lack of knowledge. Wooooo, should a person sit at the back of the bus? With this pervasive resistance to share insight, what do you expect. Head first is the only way left.

Besides, making mistakes is the best way to learn anything. It's a known education fact. Nobody learns a thing if they luck out the first time.
