I'll be at sander tonight, it's jasons' birthday. I'm not too bummed 'bout missing starkillers tho, reviews from the CA gig weren't too favorable, and I already stated my position on seaman.

save money for WMC aaron, you're gonna need it lol.

Yeah, no shit, you aren't kidding...

Seaman's gotta be my pick between the three though this weekend. I'll be able to get my Sander fix and then some in March. You guys have fun though and tell Jason happy birthday and to buy himself a shot from me...

In true rave fashion, the PARC venue for Just Friends was cancelled due to lack of security permits so they moved it to the Atzlan theatre/bar in downtown Denver.

Given how much damn fun I had there, I am glad it wasn't at the PARC. The DJs were all good - Bassbin Twins being the big standouts of the night for me. I had a fantastic time and, even with so little prep notice, the event had great lights, vids, sound, etc. So congrats to Lunaclipse!

Oh, and is it Colorado law that girls under 17 wear just their pantie/bra sets to these kind of events? I saw more underage ass hanging out the backside of their undies than a beach in Miami.

I drove Pete (Bassbin Twins) to the airport on Sunday and he's a cool mf. Went to college with Josh Gabriel too. I thought the party was fun too, and I'm over the Parc. It's too cold in there.

I haven't known KT for that long, but I'm shocked that he has a rep as a dick. He's been nothing but nice to me, since I met him in Miami a couple years ago. Very down to earth and a very respectable guy. I put the bio together and used the most important parts, so it's my fault that there's nothing about Detroit on there. I figured it was kind of a given. Wanted to hype the other details.

And Chad, as far as the Ninth Door goes, we try to just have everyone tag for shits and giggles to create a laidback atmosphere. At the Funky or Church it'll always be sets. Hopefully you enjoyed the last time I saw you at the Funky more than the tag nation we host at Ninth Door.

Oh, and there is something about the underage girls and panties as outfits in this town. I've been shocked at some of the outfits I've seen. When I have children, I will be checking their outfits. The wife will have to do an underwear check, if we have a girl, and issue granny panties!

I liked the Atzlan - I agree on the PARC being a bit spacious for smaller events. Josh Gabriel is a kewl dude - he played my favorite track of theirs, "On a High" by Duncan Sheik remix, in the basement of a friend's house a few years back. THe only time I;ve ever heard it live....sigh.

As for KT, he's always been a nice guy to me. He and his wife both are very sweet and considerate folks. I think he suffered a slight "techno backlash" from the Detroit crowd because he was trance and then he went on your with Oakie, etc but the man HAS TALENT. He is not a brownnoser. His house sets at the Works were the shit and his original productions are beauts.

I wish I were in town to check out Down the Rabbit Hole but to Wisconsion I am bound for work and kayaks - whoot.

Might go the shindig with Nigel Richards on St. Patty's Day instead of Guetta as I'll see Gueeeey at Coachella in April anyways. Cheesey french haus but god damn is he fun!

I'm playing one of the smaller stages at that show too. Should be a really good event, cause they've been promoting it really hard for a while. I agree with KT having talent and not being a brown nose. Oakie just saw that he was skilled, when he opened for him at Bleu, and picked him up. Sander was killing it tonight, but we needed some food and a shower!

Sander killed me - my legs are sore and the drive home I had to play "The Fruit" to keep it banging, lol.

Hope you had an excellent birthday, Jason! With your eyes shut, double fisting drinks, swaying to the tunes, you looked like you were having a good time.

Def going to check out the Lost in Paradise shindig - Gueeeeyyy will be sick at Coachella in April instead of Vinyl.

Cantrelle was sick - those bass lines were massive!

For sure, Trent was off the fucking hook... Sander was good as always, but honestly he's been better other times I've seen him. Find myself wishing this morning that I had showed up a little earlier. I was sitting around at 9pm bored, but not wanting to go out yet to listen to locals.

I could've been rocking fucking Cantrelle...

No kudos to the Church for their promotional work on this one.

I have a vision - a vision where Denver EDM fans are kept informed with weekly info published in a easy to access place.

Give me a week or so and we'll see what I can do....

Well, you can only do so much. I don't think anyone even had any idea that Trent was going to be there.

work is more pleasant than usual, tho productivity is down.

note to self: don't stay up til 5am when you have to be at work at 8am

Posted by NiteMer on Feb-23-2007 18:10:

I met Trent on the way out. He seemed like a nice guy. I hear ya about sometimes not wanting to come out early, although Scott Paradis plays some great music and gets all of his tracks hella early from Beatport. He and Sir Thomas have stepped up their music a lot in the last year or two, since they started working at Beatport. Part of me wanted to stay longer last night, but I had played hockey earlier and it was so hot, so I felt like I was festering in my hockey gear sweat, which is not pleasant. Had it been a bit cooler, it would have been better. Jason seemed to be having a great birthday. Kudos to you guys for picking him up and letting him have a fun night without the responsibility of driving home (which would probably result in another night of Jason sleeping in his car! )

Ditto sir.

Blasting Mylo's "In My Arms" Toscadisco remix the whole way home, sleep three hours, get up and go to work.

Dave Seaman was banging - better than I thought he would be.

Had a great time at Artopia but def last time I wear heels to the club - my feet still hurt!

Posted by Isolator on Feb-26-2007 15:49:

Seaman was badass, for sure... everybody else missed out.

Really enjoyed Sir Thomas opening too... he was dropping some bombs.
