some random thoughts on the evening, in no particular order..
- liked the tunes sean crawford was playing
- ray, shame i couldnt see your set! i <3 gamma tunes!
- highlight of the night was my tour of the docks sound system, thanks techead and crew!
- KvsA were what big room trance sets are all about!
- made mad dash to dash to track down the guy with the lit up peace shirt who was an instant celeb with all the ladies! haha, he looked so confused at first.
- the fantastic crew of TAs
- dekoze's set was great fun. a hot sweaty room jam packed with ravers, glow sticks, and dekoze up front going off behind the decks. not to mention he dropped some awesome tunes and had all the usual madness that makes dekoze great.

Wooo, jesus christ. First time in Toronto, and my first time at the docks, came all the way from the US for this.

It was great. I was chillin in the trance room and started dancing about 3 hours until it switched to the main floor. Then i went out there and rocked it to Johan. Kind of disappointed with K&A but they played moonlight party so its all good.

I didnt meet any TA's (that i know of) i wasent in the LL, not sure if any of you saw me but i had a black hat on, black shoes, jeans, and a black, blue, and white polo. Had my little video camcorder with me, vids coming!

hope to see yall again sometime.

edit: does anyone know who the black dj was in the trance room? he was rockin it hard.

Black dude spinning without a shirt on? That's Dekoze, one of Toronto's fantastic DJs.

Wouldn't Dekoze vs Jelo set just rock the world?

I had a friggin awesome time! I'm not from T.O., so I'm not super good friends with the T.O. TA crew that I usually hang around with when I'm there, but you girls and guys are always super welcoming and fun, and I always have so much fun with you all! Your fackin AWESOME!

The music was amazing, hard hard bangin tunes, LOVED IT! AMAZING fackin vibe with everyone just laughing and having fun, dancing up a storm, hilarious jokers doing stuff, so wicked!

I couldn't have had a better night, holy crap, wicked awesome. I can't wait to party with you all again soon

Jay doing his own version of the MC for jungle was awesome!
some part was close to "rudda tom tooom!, rubba ting tiiing!, radio HEAAAAAAAAD!"
then disappearing almost magically behind a BLACK curtain, smiling from it, then reappearing LOL!

Amazing. Kyau & Albert went way beyond my expectations and blew the roof off the place. That was a fucking real trance party, and I loved every goddamn second of it.

My only complaint is that they were shut down before they got to play Velvet Morning.

Best party I've been to in, uh, forever, I think. The music made it.

I was waiting for that at the end !!! At least we got to hear made of sun....

K&A, all I have to say is WOW, exceeded my expectations....I am exhausted from my drive back to Ottawa, I will post a review tomorrow !

Someone please tell me that God has showered us with blessings and K&A's set was recorded...

I had a great time at the docks (but then again the TA events are always stellar). Had lots of fun playing, and the sets I heard from Ray and Dennis totally rocked me, sosogood. So many great djs on TA. Only thing I wish was if I had a bit more energy that night, but was tired from the night before from going with Copeland to his Hamilton gig (which by the way, that O Lounge is stellar).

Posted by RoBDaWG on Feb-12-2007 03:36:

woooooooooooooooooot

haha oh man, what a fucking good time. i thought it was pretty sweet that it was a rave, i havent really been to a party like that in a long ass time.

the party was well worth the trip from NY... OS/2 played a really bangin set in the smaller room downstairs.

johan was fucking great. he threw down some hot tracks, i was so pumped to hear beauty of silence... and most of other shit he dropped. lots of energy, had the crowd into really into it, awesome set, lot of good mixing and tricks... 'take me away' when he played it, brought in some other shit then brought it back, that was sick... airwave! yeaaah! i was disappointed he just finished his set and just left right away, was hoping he woulda hung around for a few

kyau and albert were even better than i expected, and i figured they'd be great... such cool guys too, very friendly. every track they dropped was awesome. i went nuts when they closed with Find... never planned on hearing that track in a club, i fucking love that song

it was awesome seeing everybody again, you guys are mad fun to party with. i got a buncha pics i'll upload later

hahah almost forgot the best part... WEMF 2007!!!! YAY!

Posted by RoBDaWG on Feb-12-2007 03:36:

so true, we were in the process leaving the main room because he was looping so much and then I hear what seems like flight 643 coming on, so we run back on the floor and he just keeps looping hte intro for like 10 minutes and then does some gay shit but never drops the main melody, made me sooo mad we just went to breaks room

Okay, my attempt at a review, haha. Uhhh.... yeah.

...

Right, so trying again, this was definitely a people night more than it was a tunage night, at least for me. Twas great having all of your friends all in one place, and having someone to talk to no matter where you go. Chatted with soooooo many people last night - besides my regular friends, i talked to some TAs I never talk to, and just some outright randoms, lol. Good stuff for sure.

Had a little too much pre-drinking at Katie's, so we got to the club late, and I was already pretty mashed by the time we got to the lineup (I'm glad I had no issues getting in because of that), where right away we met up with Tyler and Lindsey. Got inside at 11:50, and Adam F was killing it. The track that was playing when we walked in (I think it was a Clipz track, but I can't remember the name), and then for the next 10 minutes that he was on, it was just wiiicked Jungle. I'm THOROUGHLY pissed i missed the beginning of his set. NO MORE LOAFTING before clubs!

OMG. Right after I gave in my coat, I go down to Parkview, where I think OS/2 was finishing up, and boom, he drops System F - Exhale, and not only that, but at that moment I find Bogdan, Marina and company. That was an incredible moment. Fucking love that song.

Then I remember just walking around the place just meeting people. Ducked into Liberation Lounge for a bit when Dennis Hahn was on - TAs were representing that room well, lol. But overall the music was meh, so I went back to main room were Ray Keith was on. WOW, Brutal. He was playing some Jungle mixes of Hip-Hop, and it was horrible, HORRIBLE I tell you. I don't know what possessed him to think that playing hip-hop songs over a jungle beat is a good idea, but he was very very wrong. And this is coming from pretty much a JungleAddict. Way to appeal to the lowest common denominator.

Then I think it was the Breaks room for me upstairs with Lopi, Az, Liam, Tony, and Dannie (p.s. since when are you that crazy about Breaks? Good stuff. ) Aquasky TOOORE it apart. Solid tunage from him - some new, some old, some I never heard before, ALLL GOOD. When I was a yout I used to burn Cali weed in Rizzlah, Rizzlah. I loved his set, and stuck around till D-Monic started, but by that time I wanted to hear something else, so I walked downstairs to where Reid Speed (Damn that girl is sexy) was spinning DNB. And as soon as I walk down, she drops some RIDICULOS remix of Beastie Boys - Intergalactic. I went mental. I took a video of it, I think, but I'm not sure how it came out. I'll post it later if it's not utter shit.

Then all the DNB and Breaks finally killed my legs, so I went back upstairs to relax and listen to Reid Speed's Breaks set. Can't remember it at all. Hahha, met a schoolmate (Adam Fabicki) there too. Weird meeting people that you normally see in a school-environment. Totally didn't recognize him.

At 4 we made our way down for Kyau vs. Albert. To be honest, I wasn't wowed with their set. They dropped enough nice songs, but I don't really remember being all that impressed by the set in general. It was good stuff, but I've heard a lot of much better Trance sets before. The best thing about their set was the TA-stage behind them. That was insanity. At one point, I remember Aldona (Endlesswave's friend) asking me if all the people up there were TAs, and I looked around and realized that 90% of the people up on the stage were in fact TAs. Awesome.

Had a smashing good time overall, thanks to everyone who I had the pleasure of sharing it with.

Posted by chimera66 on Feb-12-2007 06:37:

This past weekend was the first time I've ever been to Toronto. No idea I was actually going to a rave but damn this event was OH so worth the drive from NYC ! Up until 2:00, I was in the TA room and damn all the DJs threw down some nice sets. Moved to the main room expecting a lot from Johan, but I just wasn't feeling his set especially toward the end. YankeeBaby kept saying he was playing with the crowd with all the damn crescendos/looping and after a while that just got old fast. Unlike a bunch of people I liked hearing Flight 643 (I think it was the Richard Durand Mix) but he did drag that out quite a bit. As for Kyau & Albert, they were really nice guys and I loved the energy they brought to the place. They spun a bunch of fluffy trance but no surprise there and IMO their set made the entire night...hearing Realize, Find Yourself & the Sunhump - Touch Me mashup was very niiiiiiice !!!

Penny thank you much for everything!!! Dallastar, you are too funny and thanks for help cooking, our homemade marinara sauce surprising turned out well. Anyhow, I meet soooooooo many TOTAs through Penny & Kelly that I can't even begin to list names. Everyone was so friendly and I'll definitely be making the trip up again when I can. Next time I'll stay awake through after hours

Docks: mini-review

Had a decent time at the Docks lastnight, but it was clearly kids night out....these two 18 year olds (maybe younger) tried to pick me up..i call them the shirtless duo..girls I'm sure you know the boys I'm talking about because I'm confident that they tried to pick you up too...anyway.....K&A made my night and Yohan Geilen played some good tracks too....would've prefered seeing Above & Beyond, but sounds like it was super packed and people were being aggressive.....Banking on seeing Above & Beyond at Dance Valley this year....hope they'll be there...
