I had SUCH a great time @ PvD! He definitely did play a great set; lots of classic goodies & rockin beats mixed with fresh & funky tunes. Newbies, oldies and everything in between but without the usual suspects. He kept the energy & mood at a nice level all night, occasionally lowering it slightly & allowing a moment of rest. Then with the ease & precision of a skilled DJ, he'd drive it right back up to an even greater level of intensity.

Aside from a couple of vodka redbulls, I was sober all night but I never got bored or tired. I stayed until the very end (around 7am?) and for the first time in a looooooong time I left the club 100% satisfied. The music was great, the vibe was phenomenal, EVERYTHING was so positive. Pauls set was exactly what I needed and it brought me back to the good ole PvD-whoring days.

There are a lot of notable highlights/moments throughout the night but I do have to agree with Lyss about Holding on To Nothing. We were all singing along and grinning like idiots. I LOVE those moments! Synaesthesia and Mindcircus were awesome as well. I definitely had my cell in the air for a few tracks so I could leave random, distorted messages on the voicemail of absentee PvD whores.

Seeing so many old school peeps and having so many of my friends together in one place made an already memorable night even more unforgettable. Fortunately, we were able to get most of our crew together in the penalty box (or is it bullpen?) so we didnt have any temperature or space issues. The sound was on point and I had no trouble getting through the crowd/around the club. The night was virtually issue-free! What more could I ask for?

Hes still got it, kids. Paul van Dyk truly has something special. No other DJ has ever impacted me in such a profound way. Ok, ok, I am not going to cheese this post to death. Simply put, PvD knows how to drop one hell of a set and Made Event knows how to throw one hell of a party. Combine the two and you get one hell of a good time - and that is exactly what happened on Friday

---

And now for the appreciation & acknowledgments lol

-Thanks to my girl Trin & Made Event for pulling off yet another successful PvD party & for the much-appreciated all access pass that always comes in handy @ such events.
-Thanks to the staff at Crobar for being so accommodating
-Thanks to Drew & Lyss for the ride to & from the afterparty

madagascar and otra dia!!

wow...

glad all you mofos had fun...

i miss the good old days..

I agree with what Bree said.

I had a great time and hearing mindcircus was just amazing! It reminded me of another time he played mindcircus when Nick Warren was his opener on a Vandit nite a few years ago. Unfortunately, I didnt run into many TAs, but it reminded me of the old pvd days and it was at Crobar (ahem Studio) *gasp*.

It was also great for me b/c I haven't seen Pvd since summer 2004, so this was great and a nice thing for me while I am visiting NY. I probably won't see him for a while, b/c he never comes to Sydney

First off, pretty much everything was a pvd rework last night since paul has really started to utilize ableton. Hell,he even gave us a 30 min timeframe for him just messing around with ableton with spastik in the background, kept changing the bassline to different basslines that he uses throughout his whole set. My tracklist is not going to be on point till I get back to charlotte on tuesday. I dont have my digital camera cable or all my sets to go through and figure out the track names. But I will say this, the first 3 hours were relentless. He came on at about 143bpms and didnt slow down for nearly 3 hours. When he did get back up it was kinda off and on but it didnt matter, i think he was just trying to give the crowd a break.

Tracklist: If you already said the track, i am just verifying it since there might be some doubt

Dave Spoon - At Night
Way Out West - Mindcircus (G&D Mix)
Modulation - Spirits (Slusnik Luna remix)
Filo and Peri - Anthem
New Order - Blue Monday
Synsaethesia (did not recognize the mix)
Simon & Shaker - Make It (Dub Mix)
Angelli and Nelson - Holding onto nothing
Paul van Dyk feat. Ashley Tomberlin - Complicated
Paul van Dyk - Stormy skies (new remix, not ableton rework)
Kuffdam and Plant - The Ones We Love (Dogzilla remix)
As the rush comes vs Kuffdam and plants - Dream maker (not a fan of ATRC but this was hot)
Giuseppe Ottaviani - Through your eyes (Original mix)
Mac & Mac - Listen (Mac Zimms Dub Mix)
Nu-NRG - Casino
Randy Katana - Fancy Fair 2005

Did I hear Paul Van Dyk - Another way and Nautical Imaginary - Distant Dreams when I was in coat check

I will add to this when i get my camera cable or think of new ones.

Overall, i enjoyed the night alot, i think it was an awesome set. The club was nice and big and the crowd was carrying an awesome vibe.

add...

greg downey - vivid intent (Original Mix)
Thomas Bronzwaer - Constellation (Bootleg)

solid steady set with aplomb and minimal cheese had
some fantastic moments wowow the start was different
than the ordinary the techno trance waso intense colorful
and passionate it was my fav night of the year saw so
many acquintences from long time i only see there it was a
memoreble club nigh iny with all the key ingredients i am
so in love with trance the set made me feel inspired about
life in general anyway the venue looks gorgeous the visuals
were nice i enjoyed the silver "confetti" shapped as little
stars in everyone's faces... clearly paul put effort into
playing and preparing a set with "vanguardia y sofisticacion"
rare in every proffession maybe he reached a point were
playing all the same tunes even bored him i hope this
was the turning point for many glorious nights of elecuence
near perfection happiness surrealness and the dream of
a better world

Where were you bro? Me and the crew were there until 7 and I didn't see you all night haha.. What a crazy night!! PVD really did a number on the place. Are you going to Miami?

Lets add:

Armin Van Buuren - The World Is Watchin Me

Austin Leeds and Terranova - Only You
Substate - Horizon

I can't think of any others right now. Most of the ones I know were played have already been posted.
