Shame the game is getting average reviews, but seems that poor level designs and repetitive actions are plaguing this game. Im gonna give it a try tho, since I do enjoy the Star Wars story, but gonna give it as much high expectations as a Dynasty Warriors game lol.

i gave up with star wars games a long time ago.
Heading off to pick it up within the hour.
Gameplay is as expected, cut scenes are awesome, and some of the environments are jaw dropping (the first mission with Vader is epic - I literally just looked around for quite a few minutes).
I like it a lot, but I like it a lot because it's a solid Star Wars game with a good Star Wars story.
I understand where the 6.5-7 reviews are coming from, but for me it's an 8 (that is, 3 hours in) thus far.
Too tired for any more tonight, will post more after I've gotten a bit more into it tomorrow.

So here's the deal - I'm about halfway through the game, and the best way I can summarize it is God of War with Star Wars clothing.
It has what I think is an incredible degree of polish, and a pretty good story from a SW fans point of view as well, but there is absolutely nothing original about the gameplay itself - it's an amalgamation of some of the best that platformers, FPS, and third person action games have offered the last ten years, but doesn't necessarily bring anything to the table that's all together new other than the story.
Still saying 8 so far... we'll see what I say when I'm done with it.
the psp version sux thank god for pirating

All I said is that I understand is why those reviews are coming up, not that I agree with them. |
playing the game as we speak, seeing the same things as RJT. Story is very good so far, so I know I will prolly enjoy this game for story alone. I have one week to play this game and return for full store credit at EB games lol.

Welp, I'm on the last level. It's quite cool.
Will say already that the story in this beats all three of the prequel movies, hands down, and is maybe one of the more compelling expanded universe storylines I have ever seen regardless of medium.
So far the experience, in terms of Star Wars games, is right up there with KOTOR, JK 1 & 2, and Shadows of the Empire (one of my all time favorite games and SW stories).
That was absolutely fucking terrific. Money well spent, and after finishing it the first time through I'm inclined to bump my 8 to a 9. The story is as good, if not better, than that of any of the movies - the level design was probably my biggest gripe, but that's just because two planets were re-used. The final level was epic, and both of the final boss battles were quite fun.
I don't know - I still get why some folks are giving this lower ratings, but honestly it was exactly what I had expected as far as gameplay, and much, much more in terms of story and cut scenes. Much like Sam and Metal Gear, for me a lot of times this game might have been more fun to watch than it was to play.
All in all highly recommended for any Star Wars fan. Fills out an awesome part of the story canon and, at least for me, put a totally different perspective on the whole SW universe.
Very, very cool.
Edit: Also, Jimmy Smits.
yet everyone else says its a stinker.

It isn't as if there's really any point debating it - because frankly, we both already know how low my opinion of the games and music you like is, and little is going to change that.
I'm sorry you don't enjoy console games and enjoy little more than shitting on them every chance you get. I'm also sorry I don't reciprocate the attention you seem to enjoy paying me in every Supreme Commander or whatever the devil shite FPS game thread you made this week is.
But hey, at least this never gets old, right? That's something right there. ![]()
I enjoyed this.

i played it really briefly today at the shop, it wasn't bad but i don't know what point it was in the game and there was no cut scenes or anything, i was trying to find my way to a hyperdrive engine or something, on the junk planet i think. the camera seemed a bit fiddly, sometimes its hard to try and find where the people who are attacking you are, and then you have to try and get there and move the camera with you. the combat could be fun though, it was pretty cool lifting a bad guy up, using force lightning on him, then throwing him into a wall to break through to the next section
is there a button to cycle through targets when you want to lift something? other thing i didnt like was when you try to jump and attack someone, when you are in the air you only attack right in front of you, instead of jumping towards someone and attacking on the way down, but maybe you can do that with the dash, i dunno. anyway the bit i played was alright, i was kinda expecting more but i only played pretty quickly and not from the start
