'Purple Haze - Eden' + 'Tiesto - Adagio for Strings' = Elements of life
It's quite embarrassing really

The thing about it is that hes trying 2 bring a new style tho just like he did with Just be and it worked. they songs areunt TOO HIGHT up. but the vocals acaully are the best thing in 2007. The Track Carpe Noctum is like traffic but it hink he could of prefected the shit ouf it. but generalllyy its an amazing album... |
and also ten seconds before sunrise
the idea mainly came off from his ISOS5's 1st track:
Conil - Malibu Beach
^^ although it's not quite as shameful as Oakenfold's album last year are we saying this is pretty much an album of copy cat tracks?

Man no real disrespect to the man or anything but, this was horrid. It was all so just...boring. It had no dimension. In one of the songs I swear I can hear 2 of the same loops over each other.
Usually I'm not the one to call something cheesey...but 80% of this album was pure cheese. The vocals sucked horribly and the percussion all just sounded either weak or too hard.
Overall 2/10
I can imagine how, if some of these tracks were stripped of vocals and called Oliver Lieb productions (under his Solieb) alias, the response would be significantly better.

thats total bullshit, if oliver lieb was still making trance and had stooped to this level people would be saying the same shit about him
why does everybody bash Tiesto like this? even if you are not a Tiesto fan, you can here that this cd is better then Just Be, In My Memory and a lot of other DJ's their Albums. But on TA everybody has to bash Tiesto. Oh, wait, i seem to get it. This is the forum that choses Armin as number 1 DJ
in the last 7 years, how many of the top 10 djs (according to dj mags x-factor contest) have produced a really solid artists album?
to think of, maybe only tri-state for me comes close.
the likes of armin, pvd, tiesto (who admitibly ive never been a fan of since the 90s) etc etc... just dont seem to make an album thats really worth all the effort. why not stick to churning out mix compilations and get a regular monthly wedge off ministry of sound?
with these guys its more about quantity(of cash) than quality(of music).
it just seems the current fashion for EDM artists/djs to put out an artist album which in reality most barely deserve to be called an E.P
i dont think ill be checking this one out, the pirates mix especially, really doesnt make me feel like considering parting ways with 14.99 and like anything in life, if it needs so much hype and corporate bullsh*te to promote it then 9 times out of 10 its crap.

), Break My Fall (I like the old style inspired trippy tech beat, but the whole picture of the track is just not finished). Bright Morningstar, was the freaking twinkle killer in Tijs his sets some time ago, now it seemed BT went over it with a dozen of his glitchy twinkle floating effects and it just doesn't sounds like it used to be, it feels to full and misses the groove it had before.. but still the melody is good!
Ok, tell me that Carpe Noctum is a joke. It cant be for real. Its just utterly horrendous, that attempt at melody after the breakdown made me laugh.
I quite liked the production on Do You Feel Me, although its Domino ripped off and the vocals are too poppy and cheesy.
Ten Seconds Before Sunrise is solid, probably the best original melodic effort on EOL. I dont like the synths that are used in it (and in majority of the album), though. They sound like they dont know if they want to be subtle or anthemic. The result is piss-poor.
Elements Of Life is just Adagio without Samuel Barber, tries so hard to be a huuuuge anthem but fails miserably.
Hes A Pirate is listenable.
Overall, 3/10.

My favourite tracks (in order):
01 Do You Feel Me
02 Bright Morningstar
03 Ten Seconds Before Sunrise
04 Sweet Things
The rest is quite shit, ranging from cheesy to just plain boring.
I'm not impressed
Bright Morningstar is very similar to what track? I swear I have listened to a very similar track (with additional andymoorish vocals)... help!

Ofcourse every track sounds like an old track, that influenced Tiesto
That's the whole point of the album!!!
It's called Elements Of Life for a reason
