Our next door neighbor was being beaten by her husband; he even tried to shoot her with a .22 rifle, but was a bad shot and just hit the wall. So of course we do the decent thing and let her come in and call the cops. By the time the police arrive, she just wants to kiss and make-up with the guy and not press charges.

Luckily, the guy was a dumbass and pulled a knife on one of the cops. He got a couple of years in prison and the wife and gets were on a bus to Kalamazoo, Michigan.
