.. What is there to say about Twilo???? I have been there on good and bad nights.

I just found it...interesting that for such a supposed Armin whore that you are, you hadn't said one word until now...until I said your oversized name
You didn't seem to like Armin's set one bit this night, and when I gave you a thumbs up during it, you gave me a thumbs down, and that's what I was calling your ass out on.
BEST NIGHT EVER!!!!
I am still talking about this night with everyone! Makes me so happy every time I think about it!!!
MDK- Set was perfect for opening
Armin's set was Great! He played on of my all time favoirte classic tracks- Heaven Sent
I did think he played some tracks in there to do a little Jab at the other Dj's.
Markus set kicked ass!! So Amazing!! I have not heard him play that "hard" in a wile. And don't even ask me for ID's!
I do not know anything he played! I danced my ass off though.
His last 2 tracks.. the way he mixed them still sends chills up my spine ! His last track was Never Be the Same (\0/)
Such an amazing Track!!!
Rank 1- OMG!! \o/ I was wondering what he was going to do.. but he gets up there and mixes right in. No Questions ask. He lays down this amazing amazing Trance set. One filled with beautiful classics! I don't know how many times I told Sarah that I LOVE this stuff! I think I had a few tears forming it was that amazing!
Yes I still can not get over the fact that for 30 minutes of my life I had my 4 favoirte Dj's in one room!!! Markus, Ferry, Armin and Andrew Bennett!!!
*does Happy dance* BEST NIGHT EVERRRRRR!!!!
last night of conference and i was going into this night with 1 hours sleep from spending my saturday morning/afternoon on the terrace with sander and almost no voice.
i was going to see rank 1, really had a hard decision between this night and lee burridge but i couldn't miss piet. michelle, patrick and i head to the club and drama at the door but finally make it in (thanks to a little trance fairy
)
i knew going in that i had to conserve energy b/c piet wasn't going on until 6 am. got in and dekay was laying down a decent warm up set, nothing spectacular but then what are you to do with the line up that was after him, he was all smiles and seemed to be enjoying himself.
armin was actually hanging out by the bar talking with people and taking pictures and being very gracious! you have to hand it to him, people love him b/c he still seems so interested in talking to his fans and has fun with it and people just eat him up.
saw ferry corsten wondering around and stopped to talk to him for a few with michelle. met tons of TA's and took pics. so bad with names but loved meeting you all. so much fun. then saw sharam from deep dish wondering around as well. gotta love conference for that simple fact, djs of all levels, generes and caliber out and about milling among us mere mortals
i stuck close to the tables during armin's set not even wanting to brave the impossible packed dance floor and well, his sets just don't do it for me anymore. plus, he dropped life less ordinary and i was like wtf??????? piet is supposed to drop that track. and he managed to drop several other tracks that i'm sure would have been dropped by the next 2 djs. interesting listening to piet and armin have that conversation after armin was done and piet got there. pretty funny looking at armin looking all innocent while piet read tracks from Dark angels phone from his set, lol!
still conserving energy i stayed low during half of markus's set even though michelle kept giving me shit about not being on the dance floor. by now i have completely lost my voice, barely a whisper and peter calling me mute all night just cracked me up.
about an hour left of markus's set i head to the dance floor b/c he is starting to drop the harder tracks i love and i find michelle. the floors still pretty packed but not armin packed so it's danceable. markus's last track drops way down and michelle and i look at each other and are like uh oh, how's piet gonna mix into that one?????? why did we doubt? he stepped up, mixed in flawlessly and we both looked at each other and were like
this was what i was waitng for! piet's set and the man did not disappoint, never does but i just danced my ass off for 2 1/2 hours!!!! i've said it before, any dj can keep a dance floor packed from 12-3 but it takes djs like piet to keep them there until 8:30 in the morning! like 3 tracks in he drops life less ordinary and i go crazy!!!!! b/c when i saw him when he got there i was like you have to drop that, i don't care that armin did, it will level the place and it did! track after track he took the crowd on an insane ride and didn't leave a survivor in his wake. this is why he's one of my favs! it was so great to end my conference with his set. we said our goodbyes to piet and michelle and i decided to stay to check out danny tenaglia and my God am i ever glad we did!!!!
the crowd quickly changed from sketchy crackheads that were left over to interesting drag queens and lovely gay men all over and michelle and i just kept looking at each other track after track and was like my God, what a sexy house set! i loved it! stayed until about
11:30 am and then i was like opps, gotta a plane to catch. what a shitty day of traveling still a bit hammered and on like no sleep. and NO VOICE!!!! but so worth it.
armada night was tons of fun! hanging with friends, catching some great sets and finishing out WMC in a fine fashion. twilo does have a great sound system and one very nice security/doorman!!!!! lovely way to end conference.
Hey Marcin777 nice vids. Do you know what the name of the song is in vid wmc 593? PvD played it at Ultra.
FKN feat Jahala-Why? (Aly & Fila remix)
very popular song during wmc 2007 week.
FUCK I forgot about Life Less Ordinary... that place was on fucking FIRE when that came on. Unbelievable.
Heaven Scent. Mindcircus. What a night.
Nice one. Thanks Marcin777 for the track name. Great track.
OK everyone...here's my review of Armada All Night. It's been over two weeks ago and I still can't get over how awesome this night was!
-----
March 24th was going to possibly be my last night of clubbing for WMC 2007. I was intrigued when I found out about the Armada All Night party. Armin van Buuren and Markus Schulz by themselves would make a great night. I'd seen Armin and Markus quite a few times @ GLOW and I was never disappointed. What really convinced me to buy tickets was the addition of Rank 1 to the night's line-up. I'd always heard about Rank 1's incredible live sets in Europe. I definitely wasn't going to miss out on Rank 1! The Armada party would turn out to be an amazing night!
I finally made it to Twilo around 11 PM, about a 15 minute walk from my hotel. As soon as I walked into the main room, I was impressed by Twilo! The more I explored this place, there was no doubt that Twilo was a superior venue than Space or FUR.
Now, on the music. Matthew Dekay was spinning when I arrived to Twilo. I wasn't terribly interested by Dekay's electro/housey style, so I went to the bar on the left and had Svedka on the rocks. Soon after, I caught with DarkAngel, MJM, and a few other TranceAddicts. I even bumped into Armin van Buuren and Markus Schulz (nice surprise!). I was even happier when I caught up with my friend Laura from Finland, who I had not seen since Ferry Corsten's gig @ Crobar Miami the year before!
Armin van Buuren finally went around 12:30 AM. The main room was packed, although not as ridiculously packed as Armin's last two appearances at GLOW. I hung out near the bar to the left, enjoying the company of friends and some Ketel One on the rocks. Armin's three hour set turned out to be, as described by DarkAngel, masterfully crafted. Armin stuck to spinning nothing but trance (thank God!). Armin's set was as just as amazing as his sets @ GLOW in December 2004, April 2005, and April 2006. Armin closed his great set with Way Out West - Mindcircus (G&D remix). That was awesome!
Markus Schulz was next at 3:30 AM and went on to spin a bangin' set! As much as I wanted to go back out and dance, the main floor was packed. I wasn't sure for awhile if I would be able to stick around for Rank 1. I was much happier in the downstairs VIP lounge hanging out with Laura, Christie, and a few other friends. A little water and 3 RedBull/Stoli got me recharged by the end of Markus Schulz's set. It was awesome hearing Without You Near and Never Be The Same!!
Piet Bervoets of Rank 1 took over at 6 AM and proceeded to destroy! I immediately ran back to the dance floor with my friend Christie and we were not disappointed by Rank 1's energetic style of trance. It was absolutely phenomenal! There was definitely not a dull moment! It was awesome when Rank 1 dropped Life Less Ordinary, Cosmic Gate - Analog Feel and Ferry Corsten - Beautiful!!! I also loved hearing This World Is Watching Me! The best was yet to come! I went absolutely crazy when Rank 1 dropped Brairwave! I was stunned and I was overwhelmed by absolute happiness! Rank 1 continued to amaze until 8 AM, keeping the dance floor fairly packed till the end. To everyone's surprise, Piet returned for 4 encores! It was after 8 AM, and I couldn't believe Piet dropped System F - Out The Blue and 3 Drives - Greece 2000! There was no better way to close out a phenomenal set! Somehow, I still had the energy to dance until Rank 1 closed out the Armada party at 8:30 AM. I was tired and sore as I walked back to my hotel. Still, it was so worth it! Nothing made me happier than finally experiencing the awesomeness of Rank 1!
Rank 1's set @ Twilo was the closest thing to a magical experience at this WMC! All in all...there couldn't have been a better end to my WMC experience...really! It was hands down one of the best trance sets I've ever experienced! I would love to see Rank 1 again!
Last but not least...shoutouts to a few TAs...Christie (hope to see you back in DC sometime this spring), DarkAngel, MJM, SweetCandy Girl, GipsyGirl, Ambercita, Suzy Solar, Lil B, Wenddy, Boomer and Damon!
Cheers!
^^^^^
