just in terms of remixing, how far are you legally able to 'get' a remix 'released'? What if you used just the first notes of the melody and build your own track around it? This still confuses me alot.

I'll give it a try too, although it'll be hard to make something sound as good as the original.
Just wondering, do we need the artist's permission, or is this technically a 'cover song', as we are not using any samples.

Send your finished remixes to [email protected]

State your artist name, and a link to where you have uploaded the remix (sendspace/yousendit etc or your own webspace)

MP3's should be 192kbps or more.

The closing date still stands.

Question though, are all the mixes going to be available to listen to at some point? It's always nice (and educational) to hear different takes on the same material.

I've decided to extend the deadline by 2 weeks, I was adamant that I wouldn't, but I think people need a bit more time...anyway the new deadline is the 14th September, anyone who has already sent theirs in can re-submit of course...

Just checked out emasters.co and it looks cool even though it seems as if he masters in his "bedroom", i suppose nowadays it doesn't matter much considering his equipment-looks as if he can accurately do what he wants to do
