o(overdrive)?
I've been trying for ages to get that sound but i have no idea. The bassline is what i'm really wanting to know how to creat!!
Acell, good question there
I would also like to know that...
I would kill to be able to get a kick like that.
still searching on how 2 make an phat, ORIGINAL (so not those synth presets for 3xosc, coz theire all the same) synth with software.. any help??
i think this is the problem most of us have...
hehe yeah but from what i hear, u make some really nice ones!

As someone said before....to get those really really good leadsounds...layer your synths..
when i do my leads in reason i often have at least 4 or 5 synths going at the same time to make that phat sound
In this sample (Part of a remix of unity of earth by airbase) i used 5 synths (mainly jp8000 synth and ppg from reason) to create the sound....well i think you get the point anyway =)
what i would love to recreate is those Ayla synths...espec. the one in ANgelfalls (radio cut)....damn those are really nice....
does anyone have a clue to wich hardwaresynths they use in their songs so i know where to start?
Vizay, I know that Angelfalls. It would be sooooo nice to get those Ayla synths
Any ideas how to create them with Reason2??
believe me....I'm working on it...have been for a very long time now but it's so damn hard coz i don't have a clue to wich synths they are using so i don't know where to start
ohh btw trancevision....that awakening sample was awesome!
and another tip for all of you using reason out there (this might work in other programs 2 but i only work with reason so i really don't know)
stack many delayeffectors on eachother...for example: if you use one delay with the setting of 3 steps and another delay with 6 steps you get a nice echo effect wich sounds a little more special then that regular all day fading echo
Thanks Vizay about that tip
I should go and try that!
I am new with Reason and every help is veeeery welcome
ohh cool...just send a PM if it's anything you need help with
<===BUMP===>
come on ppl keep this thread going cos im sure well all use something from it! anymore tips ppl?!
i sugest we put it sticky....it's damn good reading if you produce
ohh can someone explain rewiering to me btw?

well at least that's what i wanna do
i don't know if there is different kind of rewireings but i wanna rewire from rebirth to reason yes
What you do is,
Load Reason, add the rebirth input machine.. then load rebirth.. the 2 progs will sync and you now have some nice live 808's, 909's, and 303's to fuck around with
In reply to the request for a scot project base i know roughly hows its made. Its all done with envelopes. Have a base being played every beat and have it being held on for the length of that beat. Then get the sound as dirty as possibly, white noise, the lot. Then you gota use the envelope for the filter. Wack up the attack, this is key, it has to be exactly the right amount of attack so the sound peaks on the off-beat. Then drop the release and sustain down to zero and use the decay so the sound has decayed all the one down by the end of the beat and the start of the next bass note. Both of this values have to be just right or it sounds shit but get it right and youve got a right scot project bass. Also do a similar thing with the amp envelope, if the sound needs to be more punchy stick some compression over it.
Did that make ne sense?
hmm I get nice enough results by taking a gabba kick, reversing it, and then cutting off the last bit (the part that doesn't sound like a bassline
)
Hmmm, ill have a go when io get home. Does that produce a "melodic" bass(i mean does it have a note)?
Iv bin experimenting taking sounds which do not have a note assigned to them or whatever and trying to give them tonal qualities by putting them through filters and equalisers but its a fookin pain n takes a lot of maths to work which frequencys u should be increasing in volume and which you should be decreasing. Has nebody else had ne luck doing this?
I wana be able to play a melody using metalic sounds like that of mauro p - iguana, the problem is getting a descent sample of a metallic hit with the apporpriate tonal qualities. Answers on a postcard!
of course whether it has a note or not depends entirely on the original gabba kick you use, but usually yes, it does have a note. However it is advisable to keep it at that note, because if you transpose it around, the length (and thus shape of the decay of frequencies) also changes....tough to explain hmmm
Naah, i know exactly what you mean, have you tried time stretching it rather than pitch shifting it. It can get destorted but at least you keep the attack and decay properties. Still, i need a melodic metal hit, ne suggestions?
