Myra loves it when I give her external hard drives.

For V-Day last year, I bought a huge picnic basket. I mean like a $40 onethe typical yogi bear kind. Haha I wanted to have the full picnic effect. So yea, I didnt tell him what we were doing, but on the morning of valentines day, I woke up really early while he was still sleeping and went to the grocery store and bought champagne (complete with 2 crystal champagne glasses I borrowed from my mom), strawberries, fresh mozzarella, shrimp cocktail and sushi and stuffed the basket with all that stuff, including flowers and an I Love You balloon that I tied to the handle of the basket and then I came back to his place and brought it in the room and there was a card in there and the food obviously and some gag gifts and I was like, get ur bathing suit on were going to the beach

And we went to a secluded area in key Biscayne and sipped champagne on the beach and ate all that yummy food. It was really romantic.

When I read this, I instantly thought it would be appropriate to post this:

I'm not so sure now, but I'm going to stick with my gut on this one and post it anyway.

i think maybe it's time we experiment with an internal hard drive.

Posted by Slylee on May-11-2007 19:56:

like i said, to each their own. i like to surprise people with cheesy stuff like that and i'm a hopeless romantic when i'm in love.

Posted by Frenchie on May-11-2007 19:58:

WHAT?? That totally swooned me. Yes, it did.

nothin' wrong with that...

don't get me wrong. i'm not like, anti-romanticism or anything like that. i just have issues with the people who can't make it original and creative. after being in 2 relationships with guys who did all the things they were "supposed" to do, it just felt so forced... and it just made me bored and annoyed.

Before we proceed further let me get one thing clear. You're a bi in denial but at the same time going through men's attention deficit. The dudes you were dating in last 2 years didn't bother to get you flowers and the only think you recall is your ex's attemp to reconcile 2 years ago.

Correct?

I work in that area - I suppose I can hand-deliver them to you. I don't ask for much in return - a simple 'thank you' and dinner date would do.

I remember when I suprised my friend in Palm Beachwith a delivery of Godiva chocolates, which came with a small Valentine's Day bear. This was two years ago, when I lived in NY. Her heart merely melted to the ground, when she called me.

EDIT: Yeah, I do corny stuff like that...

ok i attempted to respond to this, but i dont feel like it. but no, that's not it. lol

i just wanted flowers and felt like griping about it on TA. lol

thanks xanax!!

Posted by lcid on May-14-2007 15:48:

just wanted to show off the pretty flower that i got over the weekend...

Posted by EarnYourKeep on May-14-2007 15:57:

so whats the general consensus on giving flowers? say you hollering at a girl and things are smooth, dropping her flowers is too much or a special thought?

reason why i ask is, i'm not all the romantic type, i'm actually more of the real lets just chill and get our grooves on. So please hold the banter, but the fact that i'm even considering shows that she isn't any other bird on the block.

i want to give something nice like that but....the man in me is like quit sweating her...probably the pitfall some men fall into and also probably the hope that most girls have that maybe one day a guy would do that and set his pride aside...

ladies ya feel me?

The flowers (to me) don't actually mean shit. It's what they symbolize, which is that he's thinking about me/wants to woo me. Pretty simple. Who doesn't want to feel that way or know that their partner feels that way?

edit: it's gotta be sincere though. Stuff like that means even less if it isn't heartfelt.
