Yeah I got the new Above & Beyond Album from them it was was shipped May 21st and got here right after Victoria Day

Holy s__t!!!! What a a great night! First time at dragonfly, love the place except for the washrroms being conveniently located next to the DJ booth lol. I thought the staff were great! Set was what I expected which is a good thing. So much room to dance and so up close and personal that I was in denial I was actually at an Above and Beyond show! Nice meeting the few TA's i did meet. I think I'll be back for Blank and Jones!

What exactly were your friends having problems with at the door? They bouncers said the ID doesn't look like them?

I might make the trip for Ferry next week if I can get Thursday off work. I wouldn't want to drive up there and find out I'm not allowed in. (Forget skybar, gonna be rammed.)

I know some places refuse to look at health cards as identification. I'd imagine they wouldn't take my citizenship card from 1990 either heh. If my drivers license is denied that is.

Five of my friends couldn't get in because the bouncer said the ID doesn't look like them (cause hair colour is diff, girls change their hair colour and style basically every year), when it is actually them in the ID and their all 2O-22, like in Ontario Driver license only is sufficient enough for ID, who carries their passport around with them in their own country? Like they all got into the casino without a problem, just that the bouncer gave them a hard time, wouldn't take a look at other non-government ID just to support their ID (debit card, student ID, SIN, old health card) And to make matters worst they were asking the ones with corrective lenses to take off their contacts for what reason?

A couple hours after two of my friends got in through a different bouncer, than one of the bouncers blatantly said "who let this two fucking Asians in?!" I'm not trying to play the race card or anything but that was outright rude.

A couple people outside that were having a smoke were telling me that that same bouncer does that every week to a bunch of different people and it's not the first time something like that happened.

I was really upset cause all my friends that came, came for my birthday, I bought the tickets at wantickets and drove an hour and a half just to attend this event.

I know they were just doing their job, but they were doing it way too well. I know they have to be tough and firm on what they do, but that was just out of line. And like one person said earlier in the thread, their actions, personality, and words reflect those of the club.

P.S. The new Health Card may be used as photo identification but it's up to the discretion of the bouncer, because you can't argue that you used Health card as ID if something happens and you go to court since your not allowed to copy down the Health card number. Whereas you're allowed to write down driver license ID.

Woot! A&B tonight at PACHA NYC!!!!! Soo excited, thanks for the tracklists guys! I have been curious as to what they are playing


Also, someone said Paavo is playing, is this true?? LOL I asked him at bal to come to NYC, and he said he wsa really excited to play here (he never has!) I love the guy, he is so nerdy but full of energy!! (I love them all, but paavo never played here)

I'm sure they will like Pacha better than Bal, because there arent manholes in the DJ booth for them to fall into, LOL !!!

*btw I remember them saying that they loved playing in NYC because they said that they played "alone Tonight" all ovr the world, but in NYC the people were singing sooo loud that they couldnt even hear the song on the system!! LOL imagine this, people singing a trance toon in a city that CLAIMS to hate trance. pfft. liars, all of them!

Markus played the dub mix as well in Boston last week while we were visiting....what a tease it was!! ahhh! I was just ACHING to sing the words, so me and my girl sang them anyways....and the people in the club who obviously did not know the toon looked at us like we were nuts-ola!!!

i was jamming with my friend to Remo-con - Cold front (Bart Claessen Remix) and we were making the "dirty sound" noises before it came on (cuz we knew it would be soon) and ppl were looking at us like we were retarded

Hmm.. that does kinda suck. Have you emailed management and let them know about what happened? Saying "Asians" wasn't really that necessary at all. But it shouldn't be that offending anyways. In my opinion. (im asian.)

Yeah I emailed Ink Management, and just told them that we got denied and bouncer didn't accept ID, I didn't tell them about the "asian" part and the contacts part, I tried keeping it professional, and if their management wants to know more I'll tell them.

Just curious, when did A&B start/finish their set? I'm going to assume it will be the same for Ferry.

i think they started at 12:00 or a bit later they were done at 3:15 i'm going to see Ferry at Skybar next thursday

skybar is closer for me but i can imagine walking to see a huge lineup. then walking into skybar and stopping right at the entrance, remaining there for the rest of the night.

I thought A&B would be packed too, but keep in mind it's still a weekday and a lot of people probably won't last till the sunrise. So I think it would be full but not shoulder to shoulder
