Indeed, and I've definitely played a shady rave or two with no moniters where that had to be done and it was an absolute nightmare.

On the other hand, the Sound @ Vision wasn't too bad, and the moniters were actually really, really sound - very crisp, nothing too crunchy at all. I guess to me it just seemed very easy, as long as my records were well beatmatched, to hear every little bit of what was coming from the mixer, and it really, really just seemed easier than I had ever experienced to EQ sharply and control the sound the way I wanted too.

Fuck - that's really convoluted and perhaps not the best way to express what I'm trying to say. I'm not feeling too articulate at the moment, I hope that made some sense.

Either that, or headphone mixing.

Both are a pain in the arse. I've had to do headphone mixing a few times; wouldn't recommend.

At both Avalon and Vanguard I can hear even the tiniest slips. I like them though, because I can tell that the DJ is working it like I do, and I like to hear how well they correct even the smallest of slips, and how attentive they are.

Although usually when I make a face or say "hear that?" people look at me like I'm fucking psycho They're mostly non-DJs though, which is something I would tie in to the "getting away with more".

I don't do it anyway else, and I'm glad I say I do... For some it's a pain in the ass to do it all on headphones, but I'm glad I can say I can do that without any problems.

Definitely agree... just had my first two club gigs and I recorded both of them. After listening back to them recorded I can tell I was getting away with way more than I realized.

Wav is better cuz it contains more data
