pythagoras' theorem would fail in this instance.

How does the theory fail?

yeh it doesn't. just realised when i posted it LOL

so wouldn't that imply that RJT is also correct?

I don't see how it can work any other way.

if a triangle has a total of 180 degrees, and all sides are equal, why WOULD it be a right triangle? all the angles are 60degrees.

it only works on a right angle triangle

yeah huhhh, is tooo

This thread has made me profoundly disappointed in myself.

His theory says that the hypotenuse has to be the longest side. In this case all sides are the same length. That's noted by the tic marks on each side. If the two adjacent sides had one tic mark and the hypotenuse had two tic marks, you could infer that it was a right angle.

Thanks

I was asking why Erratik thought it would fail, but he edited his post because he realized it didn't.

You guys must not watch enough anime. Thats a right triangle.

Masonious already figured it out

/thread.

You still couldn't accurately infer that it was a right angle.

yeah but this is an anime triangle, i thought those were power-up ticks which was my whole thought process

Is it any consolation that although you failed at math, you succeeded in making me laugh?

Totally understandable.

....

SEVEN pages ???
tick marks mean equal sides
19=19=x
x=19

Took a while for someone to get it right, and still there was debate??!!

Ask something harder, Snail.

congrats, you just graduated grade 3 maths

wonder if anybody else worked it out.

next question!

Substance abuse and inspiring laughter in others is no consolation for being a fucking idiot.

I'm taking a fucking math class this year. Fuck. Pathetic.

What's the missing #

Posted by Orbax on Jun-19-2007 23:11:
