I thought it was pretty clear that I was just mocking Orbax's cry post, but, like, I guess this is your thread. You make the rules.

dude youre turning into IGK and following me around everywhere quoting old shit. Get a fucking life. The "Cry" post I said you had a while ago was original only once. You utilizing it over and over again and continuing the antagonism is pathetic. Chill out homie, no one fucking cares about you, just like everyone else.

With regard to the idiotic "laws" stated in the subject open letter; it seems to me quite clear that there are parts of the bible that were writen in to support secular concerns. Rules governing the preparation of food, property, health, diet, garments, etc, likely all fall into this catagory.

I agree with this. An interesting though to ponder is just how much of the religion that we believe in is real and how much was made up by secular leaders to use as a means to control people.

This is where critical thinking and reason come into play. I wrote a good quote on this subject in the Noah's Ark thread....

quote:

Indeed, there is no way to know for sure what the intents of the writers of the various books of the bible were, hell, in most cases we don't know who actually commited each book to paper or exactly when. Some of the books are attempts to explain things that were unexplainable by the schollars of the time, others are meant to support the power structure of the community at the time, others are meant as morality guides, and others have multiple purposes. The bible is a difficult collection of books to make any sweeping judgments on because you have a collection of authors writing in different styles for different purposes. If one's goal in reading the bible is to gain an understanding of god (presupposing a belief in god) or to examine metaphysical questions then one needs to focus on the symbolism of the stories and the continuing themes therein. As I said before, the bible is difficult because it uses actual events to convey greater ideas, distinguishing truth from embellishment can be a promethian task. My personal position.... if there is a god it is probable that it is a being of reason (given the incredible structure of the universe) thus only the parts of the bible that can stand up to scrutiny through the application of reason can be valid. Those who blindly believe fail as Christians because faith must be an informed decision.

As I said before... we're really one nation so ownership of a Canadian by an American is not allowed... unless you want a French Canadian but who would... we don't even want them. So you can't own a Canadian... but maybe we can form a strategic partnership!

I'd take a pair - one male, one female.

As long as the babies are white they're worth at least 50K a piece on the open market.

Nay, Quebecois babies all have fetal alcohol syndrom... you'd be lucky to get rid of them at cost... even in Thiland or to IGK.

What? This is the only occurrence where I have ever made a reference regarding you and a different thread. What is this "over and over again" crap? I'm not "following you around" in the least, nor are you an original in any respect. But way to deflect attention from your pussybaby "none of you want to talk about this like Christian scholars, so I'm just letting you all know that you're not smart" post. Way to have a self-righteous sense of contribution without saying anything worthwhile.
