I mean i think that if Tiesto played Space or Nocturnal and it wasnt one of his theatric shows then i bet he would do some serious damage. He does know how to select the sick tech trance that made him famous.(Trust me when i say im not a fan of Tiesto or even 95% of trance for that matter)
However, from what i see on other file sharing websites that i frequent,Tiesto doesnt really record many sets. This leads me to believe or give a semblance of belief, that he may still be able to rock the more underground venues that he makes extra provisions not to have recorded like i've herd on other file sharing websites forums.
Just wnated to give out some hope to all trancers.Thats what i do around here.

ur absolutely correct zack. if team tiesto cant physically implement their obnoxious "In Concert" production setup, they wont do the venue. thats why he tends to perform(not dj) at arenas, theartes, and concert halls these days. gone are the days when he used spin at world renown clubs like space and the like, becuase they are not congruent to his In Concert/spread edm to all the world paradigm. in addition most wont cater to his exorbitant $$ gig demands and put him up at the penthouse in the Setai, and most wont admit torrents of 12 year olds into the venue.

i will say it now and i will say it again, i will never see him again unless he comes back to space(which wont happen)or europe, because everywhere else is just garbage. and the proof is the pudding, the tracklist are basically just shameless self promotion. i understand the urge to make as much money as one can while your hot, but look at pvd, he's been two years running #1, and hasnt taken the shameless road of tiesto, and he should be commended for that. tiesto is a money mongoring sell out, with his fetching need to pander to the noobs and putting out grotesque mixtapes/albums at breakneck speeds. but i guess in the grand scheme of things he serves his purpose with getting edm out to the masses. man i read my post, and man do i sound bitter lol

If you're saying that Armin is a technical DJ then you just failed...If you wanna talk technical and good it would have been better for you to say Markus Schulz by a fucking LONG shot and even PvD.

Armin might be more technical than Tijs but he doesn't have this knowledge you speak of.

wow now that was just amusing.

Don't you have anything better to do, like, make sunday dinner or something?

Chris i agree with what you and nick are saying, but from the tracklist you guys have recently compiled, the sets really look pretty damn lame. Usually the first half to 3/4 quarters of set is comprised of insipid artist tracks from Just Be and EOL, and other abhorrent tracks like "Hes a Pirate" or "Dance for Life" and some new inane remix of an older classic, ie Lethal IndustryVIII, etc. its as predictable as a june shower. than as the noobs clear the concert hall to get home in time for curfew than he will bang out some decent tunes with proper tech stompers and occassionally go on a tear.

The thing is before putting out two albums a month became the tour de force, and subsequently going on the ensuing promotional tour for that album; he used to just tour, the old fashioned way. no new albums, no concerts, no circus, no win over the planet aspirations. and when you saw him it was just magik, and you didnt have to worry that if you saw him for 5-6 hours, there would be a little bite size morsel for you towards the end, or middle, or whatever. you used to get the whole damn cookie, you got the bang for your buck the whole show. that means if he spun for 5-6hours or even 2-3, he only whored out one of his own productions at like a clip of 1 per hour. it was a beautiful thing.

now when i see a tracklist of his its pretty much just tiestos greatest hits and the latest cheese list. its disgusting.
dont get me wrong it would be disingenuous to think that tijs or anyone else wouldnt throw in a few of his own tracks into a set, new or old, but to dilute 75% with it?! totally unnecessary.

another thing i find disconcerting is his recent habit of cutting his gigs short, the Atlanta gig was advertised to be five hours, instead he played 3-4, he should be ashamed of himself. personally i wouldnt tolerate such bait n switch tactics, i find this to be totally unscrupulous behavior. and i dont want to hear it was the promoters fault, as im sure team tiesto has a hand in any promotions for these EOL events that go out. dont promise what you cant deliver, its misrepresentation and catergorically dishonest.

at any rate, i give you guys over at tiesto tracklist your props, despite all the crap you remain ardent fans is a true testament of loyalty and fandom.

I agree 99.9% mate, for sure!

re: last paragraph, i've considered jumping ship many times, but i have to complete the job i started a few years back... its addictive sadly.

At least Tiesto kept to spinning other people's music and took one for the team and left his music out.

i'm just gonna add my own disappointment to this thread.

the opening dj, jimmy joslin, had a set 10x times better. tiesto's set was so fucking boring that i left at around 1. i just couldn't fucking stand it anymore. if tiesto represents trance these days, then i don't know what to say.

Posted by 3xx3r7 on Sep-17-2007 18:49:

oh and im not paying for his show ever again. even if i get to see him for free, i'd rather go see joe resident at whatever club, who will outplay and outmix tiesto any day of the week.

i gave up on seeing that bastard a long time ago as well.

Posted by Mattivi on Sep-17-2007 22:51:

if you get outplayed by jimmy joslin, its time to sit down and reevaluate things.

Im sorry Tiest0r has gone to shit! I saw him at Ultra day 1 he blew I was so angry at his set for closing the main stage. PVD blew him out the water day 2 closing . PVD>>>Tiesto

The only time I say he threw down a banging ass set and you guys have to agree with me is when he spun at Bang last yr that man even played "The Prophet" as his last song! He even played "C U Smile"

This has to be about the worst yet funniest threat I've seen in a while.

Tijs sucks, and I'm not going to support him in any way shape or form simply because he feels he's too good to play for the allotted time he agreed to play.

He played a three hour set here in Atlanta when he was scheduled to do a 5 hour. Shit, that same day I played a 3 and a half hour set at a local caf.

unless, of course, the promoters were bullshitting (or clueless) when they advertised the 5hrs as they've been wont to do.

second-tier cities (cities that aren't in miami, nyc, l.a. or toronto) should assume they're getting 2.5 - 3.5 hrs max.

just cause a flyer for a gig in bubblefuck, wisconsin, says tiesto is dropping a 10 hour set, it doesn't mean it contracted to happen.

So was this just a complete disaster? Now I am worried about seeing him in Tampa....

Posted by ParticleSun on Sep-19-2007 03:58:

Im a newbie to the club scene, but when tiesto went into the real slow stuff it just killed my buzz. But, i do think he finished strong with Platinum!
