How to make a Purple Thread (TM):

1) Make a ridiculous claim backed up with absolutely nothing
2) Flee
3) Watch thread erupt and chuckle in your basement
4) Hide for a week
5) Start over

I want to laugh at this, but it's so true it's sad.

**obligatory post - Jake, Clovis, and P-K pretty well handled any additions I would have had to make to this thread**

Good talk, guys.

You're making the effort to pop over the border for this?

I hope you enjoy our falling down social club.

I should be there too, but feeling a bit blue, might turn up late to catch Sasha and run.

Exactly what I was thinking about within the context of this thread.

Yeah but I still like some episodes like his recent ASOT 298.. havent heard anything more recently.. and I love the idea of abusing people who bash AvB for getting drunk or DJing in a EU soccer match.

Edit:

@ XaNaX

Thanks for the link.. I am downloading it.. and will listen to it.. lets see what this Sasha is all about..
i wasnt aware that you live in india. if he ever goes there, i'd recommend you to see him. but yea, when dj's play live, it is a different experience then hearing live set in your room like someone else said.

Posted by TranceGiant on Jul-05-2007 03:42:

Just saw him in Bratislava, Slovakia. Fucking badass. Can easily compete with Hawtin nowadays.

Posted by bas on Jul-05-2007 07:08:

I'm going to save this thread for work tomorrow when I need to lol at Purple and just say 'no' for now. Sasha isn't over rated and you're a fucking bellend

Posted by bas on Jul-05-2007 15:14:

Ok well that was disappointing

Posted by XaNaX on Jul-05-2007 15:54:

I think he was just baiting us to see how many pages of "no he isn't" it would generate

Of course he was, that's all he ever does.

Making terrible posts like this is all you ever do as well ... so what does it matter.

Agreed... I was there. Coolest part about that is i was rocking out back stage spinning poi with a bunch of glow sticks and people threw me on-stage to perform with him. It was frikken amazing.

A huge crowd going nuts for the amazing set that Sasha is dropping and i got to spin poi right on stage for it.

He was actually a pretty sweet guy to talk to after the show. Maybe i got him on a good day.

Either way... that night/morning rocked!

[[ LINK REMOVED ]]

July 28, 2006 - Global Gathering, Long Marsten Airfield, Straford-Upon-Avon, UK
01 Gui Boratto - Like You (Supermayer Remix)
02 Joe T Vannelli feat Rochelle Fleming - Get It On (Summer of Love) (Dubby Mix)
03 Kid Crme - The Game (Voodoo Dub)
04 Michael Mayer & Reinhard Voigt - Transparenza
05 16 Bit Lolitas - Dance & Fiction

BTW..the mixing from "The Game" to "Transparenza" is

The opening track is awesome, and yes the transition you mentioned is just wow.. but yeah other than that I found it boring quite a lot of times.. specially after the first 7-8 minutes.. I didnt like the closing even one percent.. I see the point here.. a lot of sound clippings he used in set would do sound great in a good music system the club uses.. like that siren he played in between was rocking.

To enjoy Sasha set you have to be drunk, not that sloshed puking drunk but slightly groovy drunk.

What is surprising and very noticeable is how his livesets are soooo much different from his albums.

The first hour or so is Digweed, Sasha chimes in with "Freak N' Love". Either way I'm sure someone can say that a dj you like/admire/whatever is 'over rated'. So in reality, threads like this really get nowhere now do they?

Posted by Omega_M on Jul-05-2007 18:53:

threads like this are only used for tr0lling purposes.

Move on now.

Trust me...when I first listened to that mix...I only really liked the opening track..his sets grow on you after a few listens...especially that Track 2....I think one of the biggest hits last summer...one of my favs..it starts up slow...but it builds up to this massive end...just listen to it a few times.

I remember being a trance head back a couple of years ago and listening his Maida Vale Studio's set for the first time..cuz of all the rave reviews...I thought...what the hell this this?....later it became one of my all time favorite mixes.

First off, I read page one and was appalled at what I saw.

Sasha is the best DJ ever.

If you don't like either Sasha or Digweed, or in some way acknowledge how much they've kicked this genre of music in the ass (aka, a kick in the right direction) you know ABSOLUTELY nothing about this kind of music, and should subsequently take up a career in playing chess in a public park with homeless people and yelling at pigeons.

Also, don't give me that crap about "Oh well music is subjective, that's just you're opinion, Armin is good" nonsense crap, cause it's just that, shit. Wait did I say crap or shit the first time? Who cares, fuck you!

Also, Sasha destroys the place every time he shows up anywhere. I've seen him 3 times now, and 3 times in a row he's delivered teh mega-beatz that make all you Armin lovers hide under the covers and suck your thumbs.

Sasha is so badass, that his calendar goes from March 31st to April 2nd, NOBODY FOOLS SASHA!

I was sitting there reading this thread and scratching my balls and then I downloaded that godskitchen set and I suddenly felt like dancing my ass off to it.

The proof is there! From scratching my balls to dancing, the DJ did his job and, as such, Sasha isn't overrated
