oh well first time when i heard 2minutes WITHOUT fast forwarding.
the whole thing is.. this sounds like from east europe wedding.. yes, accordeon.
but the rest, drumloops aren't so bad (if we think that nu mnml isn't bad).
but i'm still more hating & hating that track.
on saturday i we're on one of biggest polish open airs.. i felt relief, when my sister told me that thomas schumacher played that track and i we're on second floor. rly. just didn't see reaction of omfgbig crowd to that track.
if it must be just the accordeon sample.. then maybe more sample+reverb+delay/echo technique.
not just shit insertions like someone who has been drunk is playing on accordeon to the beat + gate fx.
i hate this track more and more.. just wait for holly accordeon, crazy accordeon, or accordeon frog.

fook.

i like this track. the thing about the accordian is that it is famous in many countries and many cultures so its no surprise that it goes down well. From Italy to India to Latin America, accordian is famous folk instrument, to be used in minimal track gets an eye opening reaction from those familiar with it.

love samim's remix

pier bucci - hay consuelo (samim remix)

perfect late nite stuff.

Came across a Claude van Stroke remix today

Posted by keithos27 on Jul-31-2007 14:57:

wow definitely an "interesting" track... very surprised by the djs i'm reading who've been dropping it lately... i must admit i haven't heard it personally in a set *yet* though, so maybe it works really well under that scenario...

shitport has u calling it minimal, but its really dj friendly tech-house.

CVS mix spanks the original, anyday.

that sounds fucking dire and also has me questioning the credibility of several people's tastes on here now

awful

Posted by Az on Jul-31-2007 16:14:

not awful, fucking surreal
and surreal is good

Posted by isoterra on Jul-31-2007 16:17:

this really isn't the good kind of surreal

Posted by Az on Jul-31-2007 17:34:

That would first require me to be at all interested in "R U Ok?"

Posted by Semirk on Jul-31-2007 19:32:

I'm quite digging Ultraviolet on there as well.

Posted by SpecialedXL on Jul-31-2007 19:38:

first time i heard this track i just fell laughing, its got a sample of a very popular old cumbia song, i played it for my mom and she started laugh her ass off

Posted by Sykonee on Jul-31-2007 20:35:

An old Animaniacs skit just came to mind while listening to that:

Good Idea: Playing the accordian at a polka dance.
Bad Idea: Playing the accordian anywhere else.

How anyone can dance to Samim - Heater is beyond my realm of imagination. I've heard some wild things in my day but this is by far the most fucking awful piece of shit I've come across since ever getting into EDM. This reeks of shit-smuthered, vomit-induced parmesan cheese. I saw the video of Samim playing this out and I just wanted to drop-kick him in the face after the accordian came in. I don't care if it's even supposed to be funny, a joke or just a "fun" track. It induced me with the biggest wave of 2nd hand embarrasment I've had since I shit my pants in kindergarten.

Holy shit has this made me angry.

why would it be second hand embarassment if you shit yourself?

my next mix is going to consist of me playing this track over and over for 80 mins

Posted by LionsLair on Jul-31-2007 23:55:

@ replies

the tracK might not be the greatest track ever, its a track that gets good reactions because of the accordian and the accordians carefree melody, and the way its brought in. People calling this shit must have their ears closed to 90% of the music in the genre.

You're absolutely right. I try to listen to as little in the genre "shit" as possible.

That whole release previously held my 'wtf is this shit?' crown for 2007, but Heater snatched that thing up in no time.

couple things:

HERE you will find a sample of the original tune.

also, I finally realized what this reminds me of:

Diddy Kong Racing

I finally got around to listening to this ... now I wish I hadn't.

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Aug-01-2007 20:09:

It's going to be a huge fucking hit. I can see right now. Just the way everyone- love it or hate it- is talking about it.
