Often, it's not whether or not the film is too over-the top, or too cheesy, or too dramatic, it's that they can't decide what they want it to be and the inconsistency is what kills it. (ex: Transformers) Dumb & Dumber: perfect example of ridiculous comedy that worked great.

Did you see it yet? ( Just asking not trying to come off like a dick)Do you like the other movies by this guy? If you didnt, than I can understand not being interested in seeing it.
I do see where you're coming from. Dumb and Dumber is fantastic, no doubt. I dont think this movie will " make you dumber".

i would like to see it...i wasn't sure if it would suck though...

Posted by Clovis on Aug-23-2007 22:46:

I havn't seen it, I was just reacting to that comment. I got bitched out in the Transformers thread because I hated the film.

I'll probably watch this on DVD.

I'm consistently baffled by people who chastize you for having high standards when seeing a movie. I'm fucking paying for it, they spent millions on it and those actors got fat checks, so why the fuck SHOULDN'T IT BE GOOD?

YESYESYES

Whew, now I know what to expect. Thank you.

Posted by shaw on Aug-23-2007 23:03:

there's nothing wrong with movies that do nothing but entertain. I actually tend to enjoy those more.

Good reviews from you and others I trust have piqued my interest, so I'll probably check it out.

yeah i'm hard to please for the most part when it comes to movies
however, michael cera made me rather biased as i fucking LOVE him in arrested development
nonetheless, i'm thinking of seeing it again cause i missed probably a solid 1/4 of the film because the audience (me included) were laughing so hard i couldn't hear the dialogue

No way, you are one of the most unpredictable people around here.

I was talking to Googooly on AIM the other day and I was like, "you know that wild card who posts in the c0r often?" and he was like, "oh yeah - Inconspicuous? He's a true maverick of sorts - through and through" and then I was like, "yeah, I just don't know what to expect from that guy".

So you see, you keep even the greatest minds of these forums on the edge of their seats, not even knowing what sort of antics to expect next.

I think you missed the sarcasm...

nonetheless, lol

I am unsure of whether this comment was intended to be sarcastic or not.

my head assplode. I need some input. how do I reach googooly?

Posted by StanVoid on Aug-24-2007 14:41:

saw this yesterday, i thought it was an outstanding movie, great comedy combined with a simple story that's acted out just right. The actors were really good at making scenes that would typically be cheesy actually be interesting.

lol "It's youuu...McMUFFIN!"

Posted by RJT on Aug-27-2007 22:47:

I thought it was fucking hilarious - and probably one of my favorite parts of the movie is the first 30 seconds of this clip:

I loved when Seth was running through all the different scenarios in his head at the grocery store. I lost it when the old lady bought him booze
