I love the fact that the Rangers are 6-0-0 against the Devils this season. I'd LOVE it if we added 2 more games to the win column and swept the season series

I'd love that too, becaus than the Habs could go past them in the standings.

Pittsburg Penquins...

...have outshot their opponents 30-9 in the last 5 games....

and have done so w/o Crosby in the lineup

Well Canada is a very regionalised country and there is resentment regarding English-French Canadians, West and East, etc.

I think the Leafs are the richest NHL franchise and definitely Ontario's team. However, there are Habs fans everywhere, even in the United States, and the debate about what team is truly Canada's team still rages today. Of course, since I live near Toronto, most of the media in Ontario is Leafs-centric and it is annoying as fuck to see Leafs highlights first on a sports show when they're practically eliminated already.

My own personal opinion is that Montreal is Canada's "real" team since they reflect everything that is Canadian and have actually won a few Cups in the last fifty years.

canucks have as much of a chance as any of the other canadian teams in the play offs, maybe even more.

dont forget about the west.

This is a huge long shot, but I'm looking to get some tickets (3 if possible) for the Montreal - Buffalo game on Friday night. I don't care really care where the seats are (upper, lower, etc) and am willing to pay 100 bucks each or so. The official sabres site indicates tickets are unavailable so I'm guessing it's sold out. Fuck.

any ideas people? Thanks much. Google searches aren't hooking me up!

www.stubhub.com

You'll have to pay a 10% of a 15% surcharge, but they're very reliable. I've bought and sold tickets using that site.

hmmm....thanks Vern. There are definitely some reasonably priced tickets available on there. One question though....if I talk with the people I'll be going with and we agree by tomorrow night on whether to purchase, will 2.5 days be enough time for the tickets to get to us? Most of these sellers use fedex standard and I've never bought tickets from a third party like this before. Usually I have my shit together but this is a rather impulsive desire to see this game.

We could always try scalpers as well but....that's risky!

habs & leafs live on saturday night

NASN 2: Montreal v Toronto - Live NHL
Saturday, 29 March 12:00am

sadly, nasn2 begins at midnight our time, but with north america being in dst, we'll miss the 1st period, happened the other night with toronto at the sens. Still any hockey > no hockey.

Thurs night too, Ovechkin & the caps play

Posted by malek on Mar-26-2008 04:18:

There's more Habs fan at Buffalo than Sabres fan... its just crazy how many cross the borders for them.

In Montreal tickets were sold out for the entire season in a couple of days before the season started, so most fans will drive to boston, ottawack or Buffalo to check a game.

no NASN2 in Germany, just NASNEUROPE and we'll get March Madness.

so I'll have to watch it over ESPN360.

I noticed that for the leafs last weekend at ottawa, the sens arena was full of people booing alfredsson and cheering the leafs, it was such a weird thing to see, but cool also. I think ticketing could be better maybe. say u have 20'000 seats. sell only 18'000 season tickets, then 2000 seperate fans each week, 41 regulation home matches, that means 82'000 more people get the chance to see the team. make any sense?

Rockabye, didn't realise that mate. I spose it's cos we have it from setanta who show nasn2 on setanta ireland from midnight.

It's definitely much more than that since many of the season ticket holders sell their tickets via 3rd party scalpers or ticket exchange sites.

yes it makes sense.

The habs I believe leave 500 tickets for every game to be bought just before the game... total capacity is 21xxx, with everything sold out months before the season start.

My brother has 6 season tickets!! Its gold, since he easily triple his money.

I'm so glad I went to the game!! We scored some tickets face value ($111 each) off a season ticket holder 4 rows behind the Buffalo bench. I had a quick chat with Thibault and asked him if he misses playing in Montreal lol.

They played like crap in the first two periods but Price is the real deal and kept us in it until the rust wore off. What a comeback...it was just surreal. The place was half full of Montreal fans too. I don't think Buffalo is gonna make it...I don't have anything against the Sabres but a lot of their fans are morons. I've never heard so much shit from a team's fans for wearing an opposing jersey as I have in Buffalo the last 15 years.

But whatever, great game, back in first. I can feel a long run this year for Montreal if they keep it up!

Went to the Sharks vs. Ducks on friday. It was awesome cheering for the away team and them clinching the division against a rival. Damn they are lookin good.

Sharks still need to get over the hump when it actually matters. They do look very strong though.

Posted by malek on Apr-02-2008 02:19:

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hahahhahha we beat the hens 3-0!!!

Man guaranteed 1st or 2nd spot in the east!!!

I can't believe this shit !!!

No doubt. I agree. As long as they can keep it up they might be able shake that playoff monkey.
