Still beat yous...twice!

Yep, but you won't have the chance to do it again in 2008!

Btw, your kick & rush football was ugly to watch.

Edit: wow I'm convinced now!

And beat your game... twice.

You forget you were playing against international football royalty. Scotland and England define international football.

Btw Spain - Sweden was a fucking good match. God the Swedes shot like 3 times.

Posted by Dervish on Nov-19-2007 01:39:

But really we are just glad to have done so well. We had good luck and bad luck. But to get where we did in that group, you can't be upset.

Yesterday we nearly put the world champions out of euro 2008 how can that be a bad thing for a country so small?

Yeah deffo. You deserve it more than the Pastactors.

Ah who knows, but to play against France and Italy and Ukraine was a pleasure (and to beat some of them... sorry had to dig lol).

Scotland has a young team too so the future is bright. But if one team was to get my blessing it would be Poland.

They have had such good results (I mean Portugal!!!) and I have a lot of polish friends so I'll support them from now on I think.

lol yes.

can beat france, but not georgia. lol

Posted by Dervish on Nov-19-2007 09:25:

Yeah did beat them once though. And I think they are level points with Ukraine?

But really should have beaten them (although it wouldn't have made a difference if we lost against Italy anyway).

And we did get denied a total stone wall penalty.... again. After conceding a non pen against Lithuania and not getting another stone waller too.

And never got one against Italy for a guy handling it in the box either... some people would think that there was some form of fixing going on given the joke of a free-kick that gave the Italians the second goal.

...but we all know thats not the Italian way.

yeah, i really think FIFA have got to find a way to stamp bullshit out of the sport. it can really ruin a game.

the problem being though that your goal was offside and apparently italy should've had a penalty too in the first half? Either way, you've done well to get close, and hopefully will be seeded 2nd in a group next time, and avoid playing two of the 'big' nations to give you a more realistic view of getting into the playoffs for the 2010 qualification, depending which 1st seed you draw

The lowdown:
Scotland are out.
Italy's win means that they and France qualify. Italy avoid repeating their 1984 embarrassment of failing to qualify for a European finals despite being world champions.

powned!

if finland beats us wednesday we're out too

They had a goal chalked off, but was handled down. Our goal was very close to being off.

But thats a quick decision the one for their free kick was just unbelievable. Professional refs just don't make mistakes like that. Last few mins of the game:

That is what put us out of the competition........ after all we've done that sealed it. Sickening.

trust me, as a Bolton fan, i've seen a nearly identical one a few years ago against Spurs where they scored from it & won 3-2 and goals disallowed for no reason against 'bigger' teams. Sadly for you guys, there's nowt you can do about it now, so take the positives, which are many, from the qualifying and try not to end up being bitter

Unlucky.

But at the end of the day your from England, a nation who raped and pillaged countless countries around the world. Next to America, your probably the 2nd most hated country in the world.

Unlucky

How do you rape a country?

Wow. How the hell is that a freekick for Italy? If anything it should have been freekick for Scotland.
The Italian player was the one tried to shove off the Scottish player with his elbow and he failed and fell.

Football definitely needs instant replay, to be reviewed by the 4th ref. Might as give that guy something else to do, other than holding up lightbright board

Posted by bananas on Nov-19-2007 16:11:

And we've beaten Ukraine nothing important but pretty nice to win over #22 spot in FIFA rankings, while Lithuania's at 90 :]

Posted by Dervish on Nov-19-2007 16:29:

Lithuania is a decent team. Even if it basically Hearts plus a few mates.

But really have some good players.

Posted by SPANIARD on Nov-19-2007 18:17:

There were some terrible calls in that game for both teams but that last goal takes the prize. I don't even think instant replay can help it, the linesman was right there.

This is the kind of crap you go through 10 games a week in Spain.

The lowdown: England are out! Israel doing them favors and the ref giving them a dodgy pen to get back into the game were not enough.

Joking aside is actually a real shame none of the home nations are left in it.

England are shit and didn't deserve to be anywhere near even 3rd spot. Scotland deserved more. Hence me laughing at you.

I wish our football team played with as much pride and passion as our rugby team.
