Maybe one of the reasons for being so disorganized is...just the way Ableton lets you wonder all over the place....hard to stay stable and structured with the system..I get a bit carried away myself...a bit different then vinyl.

The set is definitely quite Beatport Top 10. It's still good, but not mindblowing in my opinion.

Seems like the only night these days you're guaranteed to hear Sasha's very best is when he's paired up with John. Never heard a bad S&D set in my life. Not even a 'decent' one - they're all amazingly good.

Can anyone ID track 18??
Please, it's great for me....

you elitist need to stop sucking your own cocks and learn to enjoy music. "well yeah man i heard this track right after it was produced so it's not cool anymore now that it's on the internet", give me a fucking break.

I know how to enjoy music, and this set is not that enjoyable. Sasha is capable of much better, and it has nothing to do with release dates or beatport charts.

His Bonnaroo set with Digweed was MUCH much better. For a while I thought Sasha had gotten that groove back but it looks like he's lost it a bit...

its not a great set , its not a bad set. i just hope he dont play that shit when i go watch him thursday. either way its gonna be tight.i just would rather hear tracks that im not familiar with.

Posted by memusa on Sep-26-2007 01:29:

Whatever...I just know it's been a while since I heard him mix this good...maybe you guys are right in saying he could do better...but at least I'm happy to listen some of Sasha's amazing groove back...peace

Sorry mate but IMO that stupid overhyped Bonnaroo set was the same shit like this one. One and only excellent set from Sasha with that famous groove since Space Miami WMC March 2006 was Essential Mix - Cream at Amnesia, Ibiza last month.

Posted by nsamadi on Sep-26-2007 05:37:

All his sets this year were shit...there's only certain segments I'd like in all...but can't listen to start to finish like some of his others....mid to late last year was nice...especially with all that Avalon Live stuff he was playing....really dark, minimal, techy......totally on a different higher intellectual musical level...

This is exactly why i DIDNT like sets from that time period

i'm curious as to what sasha sets you guys liked besides what the person a couple of posts above me posted? it seems that if he plays a handful of the same tracks in a couple of sets you guys deem it trash so i am curious.

For me, in no order:

Some segments of his newer sets are OK at best, but its not the old Sasha. Of course, one could argue that like he said, people want newer music, stuff thats different, so maybe thats why he's always jumping around.

Some of the stuff he's playing I just dont like, I even gave it a title; Constipated House [Davis & May - Neotron (R. Davis Edit), Pryda - Ironman, etc..],

The nice thing is that he's always changing, so the next change might be something we'll all like

Posted by DiegoParra32 on Sep-26-2007 20:30:

their is a shitload of tracks in bonaroo that are in this set. i don't get it.

Posted by maddraver on Sep-26-2007 21:29:

i like the set. the tracks are good. they just been heard plenty of times.(lately)..... the second set is the same way.

Posted by DiegoParra32 on Sep-26-2007 21:51:

i can agree with that. maybe i'm just a sasha junkie but i always enjoy his mixes.

Minimal is IMO on the same musical level with farting sound, and if that's a some strange kind of higher intellectual level, my asshole is definitely Albert Einstein himself. Oh dear lord thank you ! thank you ! thank you ! some part of me is truly gifted...

Well..Sasha always plays the good minimal and doesn't play it straight, but incorporates it into his set.....

Minilogue - The Girl From Botnay Bay is considered to be minimal......but tell me you don't like it...damn...the tune still gives me the creeps...especially when the track hits its climax..and sounds of the ocean..sea gulls....love it.....

And it wasn't all minimal...."Begun The End Has".....I Feel Space (MANDY Mix)...so dark and nasty....

using the latest update of the Space of Sound tracklist I see 2 tracks that were played at Bonnaroo:

Sasha - Park In The Shade

Rui Da Silva - The Whole Room Dematerialized (Matt Tolfrey & Inxec Remix)

Sebo K & Metro - Transit occurs at the beginning of this set but it seems it was played by another DJ

So there's not that many ... regardless I don't think you can compare "Park in the Shade" played after "Monday" (and an nice build from tracks 1-6 in Bonnaroo) with "Park in the Shade" at the start of the set. (IMO playing it at the beginning of the set deserves a giant WTF?)
