BTW, where do you find your airfare?

Originally posted by diskodave I do miss Ibiza, but last year was worse for some reason... I really really did not want to come home. I was depressed and missing the island for several weeks. Its an awesome place. The island; beaches, parties, people, diversity... I love how people there are very welcoming to meeting others. We met TONS of people during our 16 days out there. Here in America, if you approach someone on the street just to chat, well, they will think you are weird or creepy. Its the exact opposite in Ibiza. You never know what to expect each day. After the past two summers in Ibiza, I feel that its nearly impossible to have an agenda or schedule. I always end up meeting other travelers and going where the wind takes me.

Originally posted by lex400sc didn't try either of those. as far as food went, if we were looking for something other than free hotel food, which wasn't bad, we opted for doner kebabs or david's pizza, which were the best spots to eat at in all of san antonio. the menu at savannah was overpriced for a real meal. i think the only thing we ordered there other than an english breakfast was nachos. i think the white sangria was more money, which is why we didn't bother with it. the $25 jugs at mambo were a bit high compared to the $12 jugs we found elsewhere. they were bomb though...
AWESOME pics! The ocean pics are so beautiful!
Thanks!
As far as club nights go is there any compairison to SF/LA or does Ibiza win hands down???from the looks of it, it looks like packed clubs with wall to wall with hands in the air 24/7..are the clubs there that nuts or is that just during the peak hours of the night
hey there,
i was in ibiza for a week in august and i am to go again in 08, you just cant go once to ibiza..So lex put me down for the villa in 08 plus 2 or 3 maybe..EVERYONE IBIZA is clubbers heaven. I am so DOOOOWN for 08
since people have been msging me about it, a few more things...
cab rides from ibizatown to the far end of san antonio are about 20 euro each way, which is the cost of our rental car for a day. we had to take on this expense once when our car was towed in ibizatown. a tow will run you $165 euro iirc.
speeding is a casual thing on the freeways, here's our cabbie tripling the speed limit for no reason. the tunnel speed limit is 60, he's doing 180...

petrol was 1.09/li which is around $4/gal, however with our econobucket, i don't think we put in more $20 the whole trip, and that's driving all over the island almost every day. there are also party buses that shuttle people from san antonio to amnesia, all you have to do is spend money at the bar who hosts it. at kanya, that meant buying a 3 euro bottle of water. the bus ride back to san an was via public transit and costs 2 euro each way.
club tickets vary, full price ranging from 20-60 euro depending on the party. most tickets can be bought at discount or like 15 euro off at the door with a flyer and most over 40 euro come with a free drink (15 euro value). some parties are completely free with a free drink upon entry if you run into one of the prs handing out wristbands during the day. we got meganite/mauro picotto wristbands for free at bora bora.
alky at the club is 10-15 euro, water is 10 euro, you cannot drink the island tap, it's slightly salty and will make you sick. water at the minimarts is 80 cents a liter. alky at the minimarts is cheap as dirt... 1.35 euro for a 40oz, 12.50 euro for a liter of vodka with 8 redbulls.
Rich, the pic of the vodka-red bull party packs almost made me die laughing. Great pics overall, and some great tips. I'mingthis thread to my facebook. I was going to say, with the weak dollar, you must have spent a ton, but seems like it wasn't so bad.
I'm there for my 3rd visit in 2008, 100% confirmed!
I was thinking 5 days, but now I want to go more!!!
thanks for the compliments guys. for all the tas going next year, you should wait until next spring or so to book at the same time for roughly the same dates. we can invade the airplane together and represent the real america on the island... you'd be surprised to learned just how distorted our perception is over there, partly because 99.99% of americans have never heard of ibiza and 99.9999% of ibiza is non-americans
we met a group of scots one night on the westend who were like "america...
" and by the next night they were singing "america! america!
"
all we had to do was tell them our thoughts on bush...

THANK YOU for sharing such good info and pics-I def will try to join ya next year!!!!
Some seriously great photos there!! Good to see you got some of the beautiful beaches in there as well. What a great island!!!
thanks guys, save your pennies for '08
Sweeeeetttt Pics Rich and thanks also for the tips too. I gotta save this thread just in case I ever get a chance to go out there.
It looks like a bomb ass trip. I have a couple more bachelor parties in the next year. Maybe I should suggest Ibiza. We were thinking Amsterdam too. Hmmmmm....
Amsterdam vs. Ibiza.....
Decisions, Decisions.... LOL...
ibiza > amsterdam
although, i'd love to hit up the amsterdam dance event someday

Amsterdam is kinda geared more toward relaxing... like ride a bike and 'chill' at a cafe.
I really really want to return for a few days next summer though, I love that city.
hey Lex - how much to sell one of those copies of Pacha magazine???
i only saw 1 or 2 with Shakira on the cover (that's the Oct issue, right?) and didn't pick one up - missed out on that...i did get the Sept. issue...

Originally posted by mdub Oh Yeah! Both one day but I guess which one FIRST... LOL.... But the Party & Party vs. Relax & Party does help me with my decision. I think it depends on who ends up going on the trip. Some of my friends are PARTY ANIMALS and some like to Party and also do a little relaxing too. Thanks Guys!

Originally posted by diskodave Oh believe me, Ibiza is relaxing too. The beaches are amazing in Ibiza, perfect for kicking back. Caf del Mar at sunset is A+ too. I just dont think Amsterdam could contend with Ibiza on the party side. If you had to choose one, do Ibiza!!
