when the majority of your crowd doesn't know too much about what you're playing much less possibly being drunk and not paying attention, playing out a lower bitrate isn't that bad. I could see being a big DJ and playing to a lot of people, then I'd try to have the best files I can get.
also, I find it strange that sometimes I have a file that might be 192 or even 128, but sounds so good, its like a 320!

yea i know i saw that after. i'm waiting to do it when my bf gets home because he's got incredible ears and has a lot of experience with sound system installation with cars and setting all the specs, etc.. so it sounds "perfect".

I can't tell the difference between the 8 second mp3 and the 8 second wav files that you posted on my speakers at school, my friend's speakers (a bit better quality), nor on any of our headphones (range in quality from good to very good).
