It sounds a lot like what I'd expect to hear at a Siegfried and Roy show in Vegas.

meh.

it is what it is.

you know, making music just sucks sometimes... people expect to see some friggen spectacle of things when all i want to do is sit here and make music and eat sushi every wednesday and friday. lol

i mean, is it really possible to just do what you want to do and not be thrown into a million other rings and avenues and then get torn apart to piece because you suck at a few things you never wanted to do in the first place?

i'd hate to tell people "no... fuck you! i'll never come visit your country because i just want to stay here and make music" ... i mean, given the opportunnity to go to other countries and check out other scenes and have a good time isn't something i dont think anyone would be so quick to turn down.... even if it meant learning new tricks... like DJ'ing / performance.

but, good news is, i've really spent alot of time and effort into making a very aestheticly pleasing live set for all to enjoy, and im putting forth alot of effort into developing it further and implementing new and awkward elements to deliver a good reason as to why any promoter would fly me to the other side of the planet to spent a nigyht in their venue.

it is what it is folks.

but thanks all the same for the appriciation, good support is always a perk in this career

I've said it before and I'll say it again, but it's always epic when a producer who is on TA is grounded and capable of responding to what isn't always "constructive" criticism in a positive manner rather than throwing a temper tantrum.

Good on ya, Mr. Mau5.

+1 to rob

and joel (or mr. zimmerman or whatever),

i'd say criticism is part of the job. we all get it on some levels. the bigger you become the more attention you'll garner. i'd take it as nothing but a compliment to the level of accomplishment you've achieved. everywhere you go you can't help but hear a deadmau5 track. i mean Kaskade was here last week played one, some dude out of NYC who's primarily a dub/tech dude, still played one. i play at least one every time. my boy is all deep vocal house still busted one out last week, totally caught me off-guard... i could keep going.

but it's absolutely awesome you get to travel overseas and indulge in sushi on a weekly basis. hell, i'm happy to have sushi once a month and take a trip to NYC to play in some underground lounge.

it is what it is

i'm about to take a trip up. likely early next year. the company that runs most of the nightlife down here, and places i play at, is developing a huge project there. restaurants/nightclubs and the whole shabang. woodbine live! i believe is the place. so once it's all complete we're taking a trip to check it out.

you play DC anytime soon?

the best chinese restaurant i have ever had the privilege to have eaten at was called Excellent Chinese Restaurant in Toronto. It was right across the street from Boa Redux and literally, the greatest chinese food i have ever had. I would go back to Toronto, just for that restaurant, it was that good.

road trip to toronto FTL.... I swear we spent considerably more by driving (time, effort, not to mention $$$) than if we had flown.
