wow at davidson.
this is davidson's tournament, and stephen curry just upped his draft stock to top 5, based on these past 2 wins.

I actually feel bad for Wisconsin after watching the 2nd half

damn. this is davidson's tournament. stephen curry just upped his stock from top 5 to top 3, after taking over that 2nd half.

god damnit
i was working tonight so i couldn't watch any, saw the davidson game was about tied at the half, that was it
and i get home and see that what the fucking CHRISt
all of my elite 8 teams were still in it before today, three of em lost today

edit: that said, all my final 4 teams are still in

My entire bracket was riding on Louisville and Davidson and they pulled through.

Unfortunately there are still a lot of doubters as to Curry's draft prospects... I'm hearing possssssibly late first round. But I think someone should take a chance on the kid. Nobody did for college and look how he panned out.

It totally sucked to be on vacation at the start of the tournament because I filled out exactly 0 brackets this year - but we did get to catch all of the Wisconsin/Marquette games while we were in Amsterdam, so that was nice.

What wasn't so nice was watching Davidson systematically dismantle Wisconsin last night. Brian Butch actually graduated two years after me in Appleton, and has kind of been a "hometown hero" story for a lot of people from Appleton the past 5 years. Though he's not a particularly talented big man, the bulk he put on the past two years had garnered him a lot of local talk of possibly getting drafted should Wisco do well in the tourney this year - all anyone could talk about last night was that with the loss to Davidson, Butch's chance of getting drafted went from small/marginal to non-existent, which is unfortunate because I think he could do well in the NBA because he's a big guy who isn't terrible from long range.

There's always a chance he still gets signed, but the idealism of everyone leading up to last nights game was "Oh my god, no one thought it possible, but this kid plays well he might just earn himself a spot", which quickly dissipated in the first ten minutes of the first half last night.

Edit: And Jeff, I agree completely - someone needs to take a chance on Curry. Kid has immense amounts of potential.

Louisville hanging much tighter than I thought they would in the first half.

I didn't give them much of a chance in this one.

Still a one point game. If Louisville can win, my Final Four is still intact somehow.

Memphis
UCLA
Davidson
Louisville

lol... can you tell I am getting sick of the usual suspects with those picks?

Nobody who really likes baseball likes the Yankees.

And yeah - this is one hell of a close game. Haven't gotten a fucking thing done during it, and the whole point of staying home on Saturday night was to get something accomplished.

Posted by Lebezniatnikov on Mar-30-2008 02:43:

If Louisville would just start making some free throws they could win this one.

Posted by RJT on Mar-30-2008 03:30:

Tough loss for Louisville - a few more finished plays and they'd have been with UNC til the end.

Soooooo.... go Davidson then?

I had, but then I realized I don't really have anyone here to talk sports with, and you aren't all King Ecnai, so I'll deal.

Or at least, go Stephen Curry!
