Ask your FOB Korean friends. (Jeff and I def do not qualify)

hahaha, yeah I've actually noticed the same thing about hte ones actually in korea town. Still like it though. Anyone that is FOBy enough to know all the good spots probably doesnt want to give their secrets away to a "westener". My gf is korean so helps me a bit, but then again she is not even close to FOBy

Incredible place, and so cheap!

shall we go sometime? i'd like to try some more korean cuisine.

but for me it's european food. having mom cook everything fresh everyday beats anything out there. everything from soups, main dishes and desserts.

however, i do like chinese/japanese/korean and italian. i also like some mediterrianian but i've only tried a limited amount of dishes. anything that's got a good amount of meat is OK in my books.

Any region along the north coast of Spain .

Ooooh I almost forgot: My favourite Japanese meal is shabu-shabu. It's a wikkid meal to serve when you have company over for dinner(I guess it's the Jap equivalent to our fondue), and it tastes delicious.

lol. does her parents hate you yet?

when in doubt, tell your gf to ask her parents

I like Gu Mi on Pharmacy and Lawrence for their galbi. Though really, just go to big Korean grocery shop (Hankook shik poom. There's 4 of them IIRC in Toronto and some other big ones carry them) 4.99 per pound.

Gah. Galbi cravings. bad

try boon shik restaurants in yonge and finch area. it's not the more 'formal' Korean cuisine like Seoul House, but more of streetfare type of food. some stuff are similar, but there are other stuff too. interesting idea for a date

Any good Spanish restaurants in Toronto? I've always wanted to try Spanish cuisine but never got a chance too. There's Taste of Spain near Yonge and Princess in North York...

Honestly, all these people saying they get sick from Taco Bell, I don't buy it. If SO MANY people get sick, from an international chain, somebody would be looking into it.

If you don't like it, then fine state that. But don't say it makes you sick...and if it does, get a stronger stomach! Damn people it's just food, the same as any fast food place.

I have a pretty damn good stomach actually. Not allergic to anything and can eat the hottest food without a problem. Also lived in Africa and India for 7 and 3 years respectively without ever being sick, so my stomach is just fine but thanks for assuming.

I do like taco bell but I DO GET SICK from their damn food. Every time i eat food from there my stomach is out of order for the next day.

lol I know Jeff wouldn't qualify :P Although Miga isn't that bad, the stonepot bip bim bop? is decent there.

I usually go to Owl on Yonge and Finch area, which is open 24 hours and their bulgogi after tax and tips is 10 bucks even.

depends what kinda seafood you like. If you like them raw it's Japanese, deep fried with fries and tartar sauce it's British. If it's baked with a bunch of butter and garlic it's probably French.

Posted by emonster4life on Oct-16-2007 20:45:

I guess its more new england... lobster, crab , clams, etc. steamed with butter mmmmm

I love Thai, Korean and Indian but the nod has to go to Middle Eastern Cuisine. Love the breads, loves the rice and LOVE the spiced meat.
For a cheap yet amazing lunchtime meal go to Ali Baba... their lentil rice is incredible.

I'd pick French, but you haven't listed it as an option.

Hard to get that here, so for Toronto I'd go with any oriental cuisine. Sushi is probably the best, but I get tired of it (and Japanese food in general) if I eat it too often, whereas Chinese food has a lot more variety. Every kind of Dim Sum is different, whereas every kind of sushi/sashimi/handroll is kind of the same.

There's a couple of Thai dishes I really like (not including Pad Thai, actually), but if we have to pick an entire cuisine then I'd go with French (not included) and then Chinese.
