I would have to say my favorite character is Hans Moleman. Poor guy can't catch a break. In a couple episodes they show him driving vehicles that explode for no apparent reason like when he was towing Edgar Allen Poe's home as homer rammed it and it caught on fire.

Another time when Burns was high and Homer just got $500 to start the bowling group Pin Pals, Hans asked for a new push broom and Burns proceeded to drill a hole in Hans' brain.

Also quality is when hans looks up at the sun and the light refracts off his sunglasses and burns him.

Best Simpsons moment ever for me is when Bart n Lisa are at the hockey game and decide to hug. None other than Hans screams,
"We paid for blooooooooood"

Off topic second favorite scene is where Springfield is ranked last in education in science and as the mob is burning Skinner at the stake for claiming the earth revolved around the sun, a photographer takes a pic and grampa chases him yelling, "You've stolen my soul"

greatest show ever....
