I think I am going to look at taking the bus or train for this option. Buses are cheaper although it takes longer, but then I don't have to deal with the hotel expenses too and I don't have to drive (which is REALLY what I am trying to avoid doing cuz the drive home from Montreal hurts after leaving a party and sleep will be key)

you can hitch a ride with me princess! i'll be driving down.

I'm booked at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

I booked it through www.hotwire.com

THe only thing with that website is its one of those secret hotel ones. When you book, you don't which hotel you're staying at until after you book. you choose the location and star rating first.

My other friends booked on hotwire and got the same hotel as me, so you might be in luck.

It's quite expensive if you book outside of hotwire for the hotel.

It came to $99CDN w/ taxes and everything, but online I couldnt find it cheaper than $150

As I understand, this is not being held at Tribe Hyperclub, but at the Pepsi Forum at 2313 St-Catherine Ouest?

Just want to make sure before I book the hotel. Want somethign within a walking distance to the club.

It's at the Pepsi Forum.

Not that far from the main downtown area.

Probably would be no more than a $5 cab ride anyways, or you can just take the Metro there.

Thanks man

Giddy up... thinking very strongly that me and the black man are in!

Posted by malek on Oct-22-2007 23:57:

ITs not a good idea to book a room right next to the pepsi forum.

On one side you have a very upscale (and boring) residential area, In the middle a huge shopping center (atwater) and the other side an abandonned block waiting to be razed for a new student residential complex.

You're better off booking more to the east, enjoy the action, and then cab it to the pepsi forum.

how many stars was the hyatt?

i saw some 4star hotels for $80

and some 3star ones for $60

wondering if the 3star ones are that good or bad?

Posted by malek on Oct-25-2007 03:46:

3 stars is pretty good.

Posted by Yohan on Oct-25-2007 03:47:

As long as your room is clean, and there aren't evil demon thingies running around your room, does it really matter how good your hotel is?

I got the Hyatt which was the 4-star Hotel in downtown Montreal.

It was like $69 or $79 for the 4 star.

Can't remember.

w/ taxes and all, it came to $99US for the 4-star room.

NOTE: That's based on double-occupancy. For 3-4 ppl the rates go up quite a bit.
My advice, just sneak ppl in or something. There's going to be 3 of staying there, but I'm not actually using the hotel lol. It's for my GF and her friend. Since i'll be partying from 11pm - 9am...I don't see the point in paying the extra money since I won't even be there.

I used that hotwire website you recomanded and i eneded up gettin the same hotel... but it eneded up bieng a 215$ total for two nights, thats still a great price for a 4 star. I also got a sweet deal on transportation, i didnt feel like driving to montreal in the winter so we decided it would be best to bus, so it ended up for there and back for both 105$ all in, from coach canada.

Coach Canada has a promotion for $10 each way.

If you leave friday morning, and come back Saturday late evening, its $22.50 each w/ taxes!

Posted by _EuG_ on Oct-25-2007 14:42:

But i am staying two nights, no sense in going up there jus for one. Oh and the 105 is for 2 people, so about 25 each, each way. I think its a better alternative to driving.
