Yes, I'm sure it came as a real shock to everyone who received the DJ Mag newsletter on Monday that Armin was going to be #1.

It's a pure hack operation. From their nasty ass naming + shaming (and retractions), leaked results, accidentally sending out their cover days before the results are announced. What is going on with those people? Who is in charge over there?

how come more noticeable djs like armin or tiesto didn't get any problems

Um, Paul van Dyk got caught last year in DJ Mag with cheat votes. The year before Armin got caught and got a formal warming. DJ Mag just chose not to make it public.

Armin also got caught cheating several times in the BPM Mag poll a few years back, one time it was so bad that he got disqualified.

So I don't think you can say noticeable djs don't have problems.

So we should believe you just cause your TA handle says "industryinsider" ?

Ha ha, not quite as inside the industry as I used to be, have moved on recently, so I don't have much inside news from this year.

Armin's disqualification for cheating in BPM was documented on TA way back when it happened.

not to add more fuel into the fire or more unnecessary drama into the mix or whatever you want to call it, but personally, i had a strong suspicion christopher lawrence was cheating ever since few years back when he surprisingly jumped to top 10 or so spots out of nowhere, without any internationally noticeable accomplishments to back it up.

Chris has been my favorite dj since I first got into the scene and even to this day I'll still go and hear him when he's in town. He is one of our most talented djs and has been since the late ninties. He has a respected history but it seems like people are overlooking it so they can kick him when he is down.

I'm sure I've said this before but there have been more votes coming in from America for the top 100 than any other country for a couple of years. I did not find it surprising when Chris started to climb at all given his popularity. His climb was fairly gradual, if I'm not wrong he's been in the top twenty for four or five years now and has been in the poll for at least six or seven years.

There were far more suspicious climbs over the years, in particular the Dutch djs who were landing in the top ten after just two years, but people tend not to question them because they are European.

I was more surprised that we didn't see more American djs climbing higher with all the votes coming in from here. That being said, I do not think I would want people overseas looking at someone like DJ Irene as a representation of our scene. lol.

I do think that DJ Mags reputation has taken a serious beating in all of this, but was happy to see on Chris's website that he's been cleared.

I don't agree. I think you underestimate Christopher's popularity. He is huge out here and has been for a long time. There are only a couple of Djs like Armin and PVD who can sell out the big clubs like Vanguard or Spundae on their own and Christopher is one of them. FYI, Christopher's been selling out clubs here well before he made the top 100. I remember one night about five years back when Christopher sold out Circus by 10pm and there was at least another 1000 people waiting outside, they had to get the cops in because people started going nuts trying to get inside the club just to hear him play. The club owners brought speakers outside and played his music in the parking lot and people stayed right to the end. This is the kind of popularity he has had out here for a long time.

Just because you believe something to be true, doesn't make it true.

Gosh you really seem to have it in for him.

cough cough, like erm Dj Sonix (who?)

Posted by junkproject on Oct-25-2007 16:02:

Dj sonix stop talking out of your ass. His been playing nothing but Trance with the mix of psy/hard/trance. You should listen to his set now, i use to hate his music until 05-06 where he broke out with great essential mix in 06.

Did you check out Dj Sonix website?

Why is he asking people for "donations" by visa or mastercard?

Yeah. Just like it's a surprising jump to see Fedde le Grande at 22 from his previous position of Off The Fucking Radar.

People jump with exposure. CL got more exposure that year, probably from an increased marketing campaign surrounding the poll.

Um, for a start Chris released two artist albums All or Nothing and UnHooked in 2004 both of which topped the dance charts.

Posted by junkproject on Oct-25-2007 20:45:

Pharmacy music had good tracks in 06. ie bio - understand

Posted by WardC on Oct-25-2007 20:51:

I dig Chris's style of music, very multi-dimensional, driving, and it really gets your mind moving. Not everybody likes proggy psytrance, but he is definately an original DJ and producer, originality is a commodity these days, as we all know by this years top100 poll results. LOL.

Hey Sonix

GOOD NEWS! Your ranting and raving on TA has brought a new audience to you. I can now confirm that the number of people "DEMANDING" you play in LA on your MySpace has tripled to a whopping "6".

Personally I find the sudden increase very suspicious.

9.58am - 2 Demands
3.39pm - 6 Demands

Concerns have been raised that you have been CHEATING and DEMANDING YOURSELF to play in LA.

I would like to know what actions you took between 9.58am this morning and 3.39pm this afternoon which could justify this suspicious tripling of demand for your services!!!!!

Please understand I will not rest until I discover the TRUTH about this.
